Ching Needs to Stretch More
Posted on November 21, 2011 by Ching under Health.
Brian and I skipped the gym today because we were going to go to Swing lessons, but the left side of my back (up by my ribs) was hurting. It had been sore the last couple of days, but it really bothered me today. Brian thinks it’s because I don’t stretch enough.
Anyway, we ended up going to Dillons to pick up a heating pad. Instead of going to Swing, we just stayed home and watched Bad Teacher. It was pretty funny. It made me forget about my back for a while. It’s still hurting, though. Hopefully, it will feel better by tomorrow.
I’d been holding off getting a massage since I just had one last month, but I may not be able to put it off any longer. I would totally get a massage this weekend if we weren’t going to be out of town. Maybe they can squeeze me in at Sveta’s next weekend.

Sunday Brunch Outfit
Posted on November 21, 2011 by Ching under Outfits, Vanity.
It was a little cold on Sunday, but I wore a dress to brunch anyway.
I wore the orange version of this dress to B.B. King’s Restaurant & Blues Club when I was in Nashville. Except, I wore cowboy boots instead of my Frye Harness 12Rs. I was in Nashville after all.
The funniest thing about the purple dress is that when we were leaving Brian’s grandparents’ place yesterday, we walked by this elderly woman who lived there and she really liked my dress. She was like, “I like your dress. Turn around for me so I can see it. It looks like a little girl’s dress.” LOL.
Anyway, here are some other pictures from brunch…

Our Busy Saturday
Posted on November 20, 2011 by Ching under Events, Movies, Outfits.
Brian and I had a busy Saturday. I did Group Power and Zumba while Brian went to get a haircut and fight with the post office about my missing package. He was basically continuing the process that I had begun on Friday. LOL.
I left Zumba a few minutes early so that I could go home and shower before our 12:30 pm movie. I originally planned on showering and changing at the gym, but they were in the middle of locker room renovations. Anyway, I’m glad that we came home because someone from the post office came by and delivered my package. We wouldn’t have been home to receive it, otherwise.
Brian and I were both starving, which is a really bad idea when you go to the movies because then you end up pigging out. Instead of sharing something, we both ended up ordering our own food. We did end up sharing with each other. Brian shared his bacon and cheese fries with me and I shared my egg rolls with him, but we ended up eating more than we should have. Brian decided that he would get a 32 oz beer. Not to be outdone, I figured that I would get a 32 oz drink also. I got this drink called The Dark Side. That is good stuff! LOL. Brian wouldn’t let me finish it, though.
We live just a couple of minutes from the movie theater so drinking is not really an issue. However, I was already acting a little loopy so Brian had to pull the brakes. He didn’t want me to be sloshed because we had a fundraising event later that night. He has to admit though, he reaped the rewards of my inebriation right before our nap. 😉
Brian wanted to wear a suit to the event, but I didn’t feel like wearing a dress so I talked him into a compromise. He got to keep the suit jacket, but had to wear jeans with it. Otherwise, we would have looked really silly together.
Here are photos of some of the people we saw at the event.
Shirley and Tiffany. I know Shirley from Zumba and work with Tiffany. I didn’t recognize Shirley at first because she was all dressed up. The only time I ever see her is with her hair up in a pony tail and in workout clothes. LOL. What a small world!
The Habbarts. Mike Habbart and I started together. We were both in the same training class almost a decade ago.
Jennifer and her husband. Mel and her husband attended also, but I think they took off early. I didn’t get a chance to get their photo before they left.
We also ran into Darrin, which was a pleasant surprise. We hadn’t seen him in ages. I think the last time we saw Darrin was at the I Bike Douglas thing last year. Maybe we saw him at Heroes. I don’t know. It has been forever, though.
There were pros and cons to having the Lights on the Lake launch party at Abode. Being inside a warm building was a definite plus, but I really wish that we could have seen the light display. As it is, we’ll have to make a separate trip out there. Although, we live right by Heartspring so it’s not like we have to go very far.
I had to shower three times on Saturday, but it was worth it. I like being out and about and doing stuff. I think Brian had a good time also, but I think he mostly just liked showing off his sexy, new physique. LOL.

Brian Comes Through
Posted on November 20, 2011 by Ching under Outfits, Things to Do.
While Brian was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago, he begged me not to go to Suede by myself. In exchange he promised to take me to Suede every Friday until the end of the year. It worked out well because I actually had another function to go to that Friday night, which was better than going to Suede. LOL.
Brian made good on his promise and took me to Suede again the other night.
Last weekend I wore a halter polka dot dress that mom gave me. This weekend I decided to recycle the outfit that I wore to the Brew Ha-Ha at Flint Hills National. I figured it would be okay since I didn’t get photographed in it. Plus, I’m not really averse to wearing the same outfit. Some people will refuse to wear the same outfit for several months. Well, if you have a clothing wardrobe like my mom’s, you can do that sort of stuff. It’s just not practical for regular people. I actually find that I wear the clothes that I like most week after week. I have clothes that are pretty much “work uniforms” of a sort.
Mom liked this dress actually. I told her that I had gotten it at the spa for only $40. Beau Monde is selling clothes now. They owner has been dabbling in clothing and accessories for a while. She is after all marketing the place as a “spa and boutique” type of business. I’m not sure if it is intentional or unintentional part of their marketing plan, but it is quite an effective way to differentiate the business from Healing Water and Serenity (two other places on the East side of Wichita that Brian and I have gone to for massages). Anyway, this is the first time that something really caught my eye.
The first time I saw the dress was almost two months ago. I thought they were cute and one of the Beau Monde staff gave a blazing testimonial. She was like, “They look super cute with leggings. I have it in every color.” This was a girl who was always fashionable and put together so I knew I could trust her recommendation. That’s all I needed to hear. I wanted one. Of course, they didn’t have any left in my size. They only had mediums and larges. As she was searching through the rack she was like, “You are tiny. The medium will be too big for you. We should have some more coming in, though.” I hadn’t been called “tiny” in years so that made me feel good. LOL.
Several weeks later when I was in for my regular waxing appointment, I found that they had one in small. It was the only small they had in stock so I went ahead and bought it. Although, I wish that they made these dresses in extra small because I think even the small fits a little baggy. My bra kept peeking out of the low scoop neckline all night at Suede. I don’t think that I would have had that problem if the dress was cut just a tad smaller.
Anyway, mom actually got dad to come out the other night and I think they had a great time. I think the funniest part was that mom was trying to tell dad that he was doing something wrong and it turns out that mom was the one who was doing it wrong the entire time. LOL. Of course, we women always think that we’re right and usually we are. Not this time, though.
This is going to sound a tad racist but, when it comes to Brian and dancing, I always play the Filipino card. I mean everyone knows that Filipinos have rhythm. We are a nation of dancing fools. Heck, even our inmates enjoy dancing.
One night at swing lessons, Brian and I were having trouble with one of the combinations and we couldn’t figure out who was messing it up. He was convinced that I was doing it wrong and I was convinced that he was the one messing us up. I was like, “Hmmm… Let me see… You’re white and I’m Filipino. I’m pretty sure I’m doing it right.” We both busted up laughing. That’s one of the things that I love about Brian is that we can make fun of stuff and one another and we always have a great time, no matter where we are.
The last couple of weeks of salsa lessons have been really good. Gina is such a great teacher. We learned some new combinations and I think we actually look like we know what we’re doing on the dance floor now. Even Rene (mi bailador favorito) agrees that we’ve come a long way from when he first met us at Suede last year.
Here’s a photo of Hideki, Gina Ann, Andrea, Rene and me from this weekend.
We had a smaller group than the previous week (last Friday was 11/11/11 after all, so it was kind of a special night), but that didn’t stop us from having a great time and taking lots of good pictures. These ones I’m posting were stolen from Gina Ann’s Facebook. She’s never without her camera!
Brian and his angels…
See what I mean about the bra thing?
Anyway, we won’t be at Suede this coming Friday because we’re spending the weekend in Kansas City. We’re hitting Legends for our annual midnight shopping expedition. We’re leaving on Thursday night and won’t be back until Sunday. I’m pretty sure there will be naps mixed in with the marathon shopping. LOL.
I’m hoping that we will be back at Suede the following Friday, but that all depends on how I feel because I have my biopsy that afternoon. I’m not sure what all that entails. Hopefully, I’ll be in a good mood and dancing won’t be out of the question. Maybe I’ll have a new outfit to wear. New clothes (even hand-me-downs) always cheer me up.

Apps, Apps Everywhere
Posted on November 20, 2011 by Ching under Wishlist.
We got a $20 rewards certificate from Best Buy the other day so I told Brian that he could get the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 game that he’d been wanting. While we were there, we came across this…
It’s not enough that your TV can Facebook and Twitter, now your refrigerator can do the same things too. Holy cow! Why? The ubiquity of the internet is getting out of control, don’t you think? Just a tad? LOL.
I actually shouldn’t say anything because, if I had a house and enough money, I’d probably have one of these. I’m such a sucker for this sort of stuff. I can just see us years from now, “We love our refrigerator. It works really great. Plays our Pandora music stations and everything. It just won’t keep the food cold.”
Now, what would be really cool is if the door of the microwave oven would double as a TV/computer screen. This way you can watch news or browse your Facebook while you’re waiting for your Lean Cuisine to finish cooking. Those Marie Callender’s chicken pot pies are the worst. They take like ten minutes to make in the microwave. You might as well cook something on the stove! LOL. With your new high-tech microwave though, you could use those ten minutes to browse YouTube or play some games. I think a microwave/TV/computer combo would be the number one must have home appliance for everyone. Whirlpool had a concept or prototype of this of some sort several years ago. I wonder why they never made it to the stores?
