Hairy Legs

Posted on January 3, 2009 by under Moblog.

I haven't shaved since the waxing in Oct

Brian and I went to meet his parents and grandparents at The Diner for brunch yesterday. The weather was so nice that I decided to wear a skirt sans tights. When I stepped out of the car and into the sunlight I caught a glimpse of my very hairy, super gross legs. That’s what happens when you don’t shave for two months. LOL.

I loathe shaving so I hadn’t shaved my legs since my last full body waxing right before the cruise. I figure that I can hold out until spring when I can get another full body waxing. I mean, I rarely every wear shorts or skirts in the winter anyway. I didn’t expect my legs to look super gross the way they did yesterday.

I had to take a picture just to show how gross they were. Except, much to my disappointment, the leg hairs didn’t really show up well in the picture so you guys aren’t getting the full extent of the grossness. Oh, well. Maybe no one will notice if I don’t shave my legs for another two months. Brian doesn’t seem to mind it. =P

Significant Moments of 2008

Posted on January 2, 2009 by under Life.

This is the obligatory end of year recap.

  • Tweetups. We had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people via Twitter.
  • Completing the remodel of spare bedroom number 1. It only took a year because we kept procrastinating.
  • Going on the 2008 WPTAPL Halloween poker cruise. You can preview our photobook here, and purchase a copy here.
  • Manny Pacquiao defeats Oscar de la Hoya. Just had to add that to the list. Pinoy pride, pare!
  • Ching’s first time voting. Ching was naturalized a few years ago, but voted for the very first time in the 2008 elections. Brian still refuses to exercise his rights.
  • Cory and April’s Vegas wedding. Brian and Ching take a trip to Sin City to witness the nuptials. It is Brian’s first time in Vegas and he decided that he hates it.
  • Eddy’s bungles an oil change and almost kills Bebot.
  • Ching got to shoot some guns at the KMMH open house in August, and has videos to prove it.
  • Memorial weekend in Kansas City. There will be no more pleasure trips (business trips will still continue, unfortunately) for a while until the home remodel is finished.
  • Ching completed her MBA. There will be no more school for a while either.
  • Ching is inducted to Beta Gamma Sigma. This is a big deal because she did not get invited as an undergrad. Now she’s a member. Go, Ching!
  • Ching tears up the Western sales region’s poker tournament at Viega’s national sales meeting. The only woman in the tournament got second place and almost took down the whole tournament. The men were not pleased. Ching’s winnings were donated to the Relay for Life fundraising cause at Viega.
  • Brian left LSI and moved on to greener pastures. He started his first day at Viega by going to the airport and flying to their office in New Hampshire.

Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal

Posted on January 1, 2009 by under Movies, News.

Brian was nice and let me watch Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal, it’s a Lifetime made-for-TV movie. It originally aired back in August but they had just re-run it yesterday so it was available on demand. Brian found it for me so I could watch it. My initial reaction was shock. “Does this stuff really happen in real life?” I wondered and then quickly realized that this movie is based on a true story. This stuff actually happened over a year ago. Watch the clip below for more info.

Vacation is Over, Back to Work Tomorrow

Posted on January 1, 2009 by under Life.

Time just flew by. I can’t believe it’s time to go back to work again. I was just getting the hang of being on vacation. Ugh.

Brian and I were actually pretty productive at the beginning of our vacation. We completed the chocolate room and had carpet laid and everything. After Christmas, however, all sense of productivity went down the tubes. We just could not stay motivated.

I think part of it is that we could not find good bedroom furniture that we could afford. It really sucks to be poor. =P

Anyway, here’s a photo of Brian demonstrating the use of the multi-screwdriver torch tool — my Christmas gift to him that only cost me $10.

brian demos the use of the multiscrew...

Piaggio USA

Posted on December 31, 2008 by under Toys, Wishlist.

I was looking over a Popular Mechanics today and ran across an article about the Piaggio MP3 500.

Piaggio MP3 500

I love the way these bikes look, they are so sleek and tough looking. I have yet to see any of these on the road, but for 7K Maybe I can be the first in Wichita to get one. I don’t thing my wife will let me have one just yet. I need to finish the work on the house first before I can ask for a gift of this magnitude. Maybe in a couple of years you will see the wife and I on a warm summer night strolling around town on this.

Here’s to dreaming.
