Lemon Bliss Spa

Back in October I promised Brian that I would take him to The Oread for a spa getaway. I always deliver on my promises, so we found ourselves in Lawrence this weekend. There is a spa conveniently located inside the hotel.
Brian had to fill out some stuff because it was his first visit.
The massage itself was okay. After the massage I had at Sveta’s last month (thanks to Groupon), all other massages don’t seem to measure up anymore. Brian was a little disappointed with his massage.
His therapist had been smoking right before the treatment and he said she smelled like cigarette smoke. Brian and I often joke about our massages because he usually gets the better massage therapist. He said I got the good one this time. I feel kind of bad. I think I’m going to have a schedule a make up massage. LOL.

Post-Poker Nightcap

We had our best buds over for some munchies after poker at Nikki’s last night. I think they all ended up with contact high from a couple of guys playing poker with us who reeked of marijuana. Of course, I got picked on because I don’t know what it smells like. I think I know now. Anyway, if you’re going to smoke that stuff on the way to poker, Jay recommends at least rolling the windows down.
Congrats to Becca for making the final table and to Jay for actually cashing last night!
Brian and Becca were goofing around.
It was quite entertaining, actually.
Cory and Brian were looking over Brian’s wine lover’s journal.
Brian was quite tipsy before long. He actually had a bit of a reaction last night.
Don’t worry. He’s still alive. Thanks to the Dills and the Phelpi for coming over and sharing a wonderful nightcap with us last night. This morning? LOL. Whatever. It was the perfect ending for a fun evening with friends.

Poker at Nikki’s (Again)

We had talked about checking out The Flop tonight, but somehow we ended up at Nikki’s Poker Room again. Maybe I can talk the others in our poker posse into trying a new place next time. Nikki’s is okay, but I really want to check out the other poker establishments in town. There are so many of them.
Cory got knocked out first among our group. Brian was out next and I followed shortly after. April actually knocked me out. Boooo!
April, Becca and Jay did pretty well. Becca and Jay did the best out of all of us. They both made the final table and Jay actually cashed.
So far, only Cory and Jay have cashed at Nikki’s. The rest of us have yet to place in the money. I’ve made the final table a couple of times, but somehow always fall short. Maybe next time I can take it down.

Groves Was Busy Today

My favorite liquor store was packed today. I’d never seen so many cars in their parking lot. I think everyone was stocking up for Valentine’s weekend. How else are you getting laid, right?
