I Love Jeans Month
Posted on November 15, 2011 by Ching under Outfits, Vanity.
We are raising money for one of our coworkers so we get to wear jeans pretty much all month. All we have to do is pay a dollar for each jean day. I’m loving it because then I can be more adventurous with my work outfits. My typical work attire is generally pretty conservative. I pretty much just stick to dress pants and boring blouses. I’m not even that adventurous when it comes to colors. I wear lots of blacks, grays and browns. LOL.
The photo on the left was my work attire on Monday. I wouldn’t normally wear something like this, but Brian convinced me that it was okay. I’m glad I listened to him because I actually got compliments.
The photo on the right was what I wore today. I was going for the equestrian look. LOL. I actually didn’t even put the outfit together in my mind until I was in the shower. I’m glad everything fit. I was mostly worried about the J.Crew boots that I’ve had for like eight years. They used to be quite snug around my calves. I usually wore them with skirts. Thankfully, my calves have shrank enough that I can now wear them over skinny jeans. Woot! That really made my day.
Brian came to see me at lunch today. It was a nice treat because we rarely see each other over lunch anymore. There’s not really been a point since I’m just drinking shakes for lunch. I just end up drinking my shake at my desk and working through lunch most days. Lame, I know.
I just had a shake again today so we pretty much just spent our lunch hour goofing around and taking photos of each other. LOL.
We got a little carried away with the photos. LOL.

Spanish is Cutting Into My Zumba
Posted on November 14, 2011 by Ching under Things to Do.
Beginning in January, I’m going to attend Spanish on Monday nights. This means no Swing or Zumba. It’s tough enough alternating between the two. Now I have to throw Spanish in the mix. Ugh.
Incidentally, I missed my friend Rene’s Zumba debut. Gina Ann said he came to class tonight. And I wasn’t there to see it because Brian and I were at Swing lessons.
I missed Zoe’s Group Power class tonight also because I opted to tag along as Brian ran errands. Our first stop was at the mall to exchange a jar that Brian thought had been tampered with. Then we went to pick up Brian’s dry cleaning. I was actually looking forward to that because I was planning on stopping by Wild at Heart while Brian was at In the Bag. I was bummed when we got there because the store is closed. I think they’ve consolidated everything at their West location.
We did discover a new wine place, though. It’s called Extremo Vino and it’s really neat. I love that they have a record of all of your wine purchases, which you can access through their web site. You can also leave comments about the various wines and read recommendations and feedback from other people. Prices are comparable to Groves according to Brian. With this new place being more modern and hip, I think our regular trips to Groves may be a thing of the past. Specially since Extremo Vino is just down the street from us. You all need to check it out. The selection is great and the people are super nice. I think we’ve found a new favorite liquor store!

Fight Night at Jen and Armando’s
Posted on November 13, 2011 by Ching under Events, Family.
Brian opted to skip the tapas class at Taste & See because he didn’t want to be late for fight night. Although the main event didn’t actually start until about 10:30 pm and I’m pretty sure the tapas class would have finished in plenty of time, going to Jen & Armando’s early proved to be a good choice. Armando gave him a Pilipinas jacket that was perfect for the occasion.
Brian was super thrilled. Thank you, Jen and Armando!
It was not one of Manny’s best performances, but Marquez is a tough competitor. He’s the only one I’ve known to give Manny trouble. All of Manny’s previous opponents have been no match for him. This made for a really great, exciting fight. Either boxer could have taken the match at any time. In fact, many people, including Marquez’ team, felt that he should have won. He certainly fought well. Manny threw and landed more punches, though. Two of the judges gave him the match, while the third judge called it a draw. It wasn’t the decisive victory that either camp was looking for so I’m pretty sure these guys will meet again in a couple of years for part IV of this ongoing boxing rivalry/saga.
Thank you again to Armando and Jen for hosting the event and having us over. We had a great time! Maybe we can return the favor for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, if it ever happens. Hopefully, we’ll be in a house by then. 😉

New Eye Doctor
Posted on November 13, 2011 by Ching under Health.
Brian and I switched eye doctors again. We wanted a place that’s open on Saturdays that’s also close to where we live. That way we don’t have to miss work for appointments. We went in for our first eye check up at the new place yesterday. That meant filling out paperwork. For the first time in my life, I actually got to mark “yes” on something.
It was like, no, no, no, no, no… Thyroid problems? Yes. LOL.
Our new eye doctor, Dr. Marchant seems nice. They let Brian and I do our appointments together. It worked out great. Instead of sitting in the room being bored by yourself, which is usually what happens to me; Brian and I got to hang out and keep each other company while we waited.
I hated having to miss Gina Ann’s Zumba class yesterday, but it’s better than having to take some time off work. I love that our dentist and eye doctor are both within walking distance from place. And I love that they’re both open Saturdays. Well, the dental office is only open two Saturdays a month so I had to set my next appointment (Invisalign check up) for Friday afternoon, December 16, instead. Oh, well.

Ching’s New Old Dress
Posted on November 13, 2011 by Ching under Free Stuff, Outfits, Things to Do, Vanity.
Mom gave me this dress last week. It’s sooo cute! I don’t think it’s very flattering on me since I have no boobies to speak of, but I wore it anyway. It was perfect for salsa night. Thank you for the dress, mom!
Several people from Zumba came to join us.
Even Misty said she had a great time.
Gina Ann was awesome. She led us through a Pegate line dance. LOL.
Brian and Stephanie. There are a few other photos in my Flickr stream. Check them out or, better yet, come join us next Friday!
P.S. Brian and I learned some new moves we are dying to show off. 😉
