Brian’s Racquetball Victory

Posted on July 26, 2010 by under Games.

“What are you staring at?” Brian asked me.

“Nothing.”

“You’re staring off into space like you’re looking at something,” He said. “Did I run you completely ragged and into delirium?”

“No,” I replied. “I’m just in shock that you won.”

So there you have it. Brian kicked my behind at racquetball tonight. I figured that I would write an actual blog post instead of simply updating my status on Facebook because these victories have gotten so rare now that I wear contact lenses and can actually see the ball (yes, Brian’s days of taking advantage of the visually handicapped are officially over) that they are worth commemorating. LOL.

So what was at stake this time? The same thing as last time. Seven uninterrupted days of PS3 gaming of Brian’s choosing (he made it clear he didn’t want seven consecutive days; but rather seven select days). He was so sore and whiny the last time when he lost. He was like, “You really don’t want me to play PS3 that much? Why did you get me a PS3 then?” Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah. I figured if I lost today, at least I wouldn’t have to endure the incessant whining.

So Much for Cleaning

Posted on July 18, 2010 by under Games, Life.

This is inevitably what we end up doing when we’re supposed to be cleaning.

We did get quite a bit of cleaning done before we decided to plop our behinds on the couch and start playing video games, though. Pandora helped. Brian likes to have the music blaring when he’s cleaning.

After cleaning, we played some Tekken. I’m sad to report that my winning days are over. Brian has found a favorite character that he can use to consistently whoop on everyone else, Lili. Blech.

Speaking of video games… Dan came over last night and played Rock Band 2 with us. He is the only one we know who can get 98% on guitar, on Expert level. The mark of a true nerd. Just kidding, Dan!

I played with them for a while, but then I ended up getting a blister on my left hand. I think it’s because of the awkward way that I hold the drumsticks. Now I have an RB2 callous. LOL.

Dan helped us unlock quite a few songs. I think we only have 40 songs left to unlock. After that it will be time to start buying some songs or song packs.

Thanks, Dan! See you in two and half years!

For those of you following our progress, here’s an update:

It looks like Brian is winning so far, unfortunately. =P

Ching Victorious at Bowling

Posted on January 17, 2010 by under Games, Things to Do.

bowling scores

I decided to skip my Sunday step class in favor of bowling today. Jennifer and Armando, and Mom, and Tita Mila all joined us at Northrock Lanes where they do all-you-can-bowl from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for only $7 (includes shoes). Not a bad deal at all. The pizza was a little on the expensive side, but they have great pizza (as bowling alley pizzas go) so I guess it wasn’t bad either. The best part? Beating mom at bowling. LOL.

Mom bowled an average of 147 today compared to my 160 average. Brian wanted to know what his was and we figured it at 120. Bowling is the one game that I can consistently beat Brian. While Brian owns racquetball (I can never beat him at it for whatever reason), I definitely own bowling. We are about even at poker. I used to beat Brian at it, but he’s picked up his poker game in the last few years.

We’re playing racquetball tonight. Let’s see if I can finally beat Brian. That would really make my day.
