The Pink Boa is the Girliest Store Ever

Posted on January 4, 2009 by under Flickr, Life.

The Pink Boa has been around for about two years now and I’d still never been there. When Sunny found out she gave me a 25% off coupon to the store. With some of the weather we’d had over the last month and the craziness of the holiday, I’d still never gotten around to going. That changed yesterday afternoon when Sunny picked me up and too me there. It worked out perfect because my loving husband had absolutely no desire to go. He missed out on seeing some of the girliest stuff on the planet, though. Here are some of the photos I took with my phone…

It is the neatest store ever! I can’t believe I’d never been there. I ended up picking up an “Art by Amy” poker themed pendant (similar to the one that Sunny has, but with different baubles dangling from it) and two silks (a red one and a black one) to go with it. The store doesn’t allow any discounts on “Art by Amy” because they don’t do any markup on the price so I had to pick something else out to use my 25% off coupon on… Well, I technically didn’t HAVE to but I was compelled to because I am not one to pass up a good deal and I really didn’t know when I could return to the store, knowing Brian. Anyway, I picked out this Pink Panache ball-bearing poker themed necklace that I thought was really cool and unique. I was able to use my coupon on that.

Thank you so much for the coupon and for taking me, Sunny!

Our building looks so festive this time of the year…

On our floor alone, we have at least two Christmas trees that I know of… one regular tree and one tree dedicated to our Salvation Army angels.

Oh, and did I mention that we had carolers in the building the other day? How cool is that? I’ve never worked in a building that had carolers before.

NyQuil Refill, Anyone?

Brian and I stopped by the store to pick up some more DayQuil and NyQuil on the way home from work today. I finished an entire box of NyQuil this week. Now that we are both sick (no thanks to me and my kissy faces and snuggling with Brian despite being “germy” and covered with cooties), Brian needs some too. There’s no telling how long this box will last.

Thanksgiving 2008 at the Brubakers’

Posted on November 29, 2008 by under Family, Flickr, Food and Drink.

We spent Thanksgiving day at Brian’s parents’ house. This is pretty much tradition for us, except for 2006 when Brian’s parents spent Thanksgiving in Houston and we had to do it ourselves. Thankfully, Piccadilly sells a good Thanksgiving feast. It was probably more expensive than simply cooking ourselves, but it saved us time and it was delicious. I think better than I could have done.

Brian’s mom is a fantastic cook so I’m glad we don’t usually have to fend for ourselves. Granted Piccadilly’s food was good and it turned out okay for everyone, but it doesn’t compare to the food she prepares. Here are some photos taken on Thanksgiving day…

I think we all went a little stir-crazy while waiting for the food to be ready, specially with the aroma wafting from the oven and permeating the entire house.

Even Scooter was restless…
