Giving RedBox a Shot
Posted on November 26, 2010 by Ching under Games, Movies, Sex.
Though we’d been loyal Netflix customers for over six years now, Brian finally broke down and decided to give RedBox a try. I’d been wanting to try RedBox for a while now, but Brian was completely against the idea. He’s very guarded when it comes to giving companies his credit card information.
Anyway, he wanted to set up a “play date” with Jay the other day and figured he couple pick up Eat Pray Love for Becca and I to watch while he and Jay played God of War III
. I’d already seen Eat Pray Love before (Brian and I saw it with Misty and Jessica when it first came out it theaters), but Becca hadn’t seen it yet. It wasn’t a good enough draw for Becca, though, because Jay showed up the other night sans his better half. I really didn’t want to sit through the movie again (it’s a great movie, but it’s quite depressing, specially at the beginning) so I just ended up watching Brian and Jay play video games, while munching on some edamame and sipping some of my Aveda Comforting Tea. It was pretty entertaining, actually.
After Jay left, Brian continued to play some more. After another couple of hours of it, I got pretty bored so I ended surfing to Brian’s favorite web site. That pretty much put a stop to video-game-playing for the evening. LOL.
All I can say is, this has been a pretty amazing week! 😉

Poltergeist at the Orpheum
Posted on October 31, 2010 by Ching under Movies.
We got to see Poltergeist at the Orpheum last night courtesy of @Cox_Will. Thanks, again! Speaking of tweeple, meeting @ICTJennifer for the first time was definitely a highlight for me…
I always enjoy meeting WichiTweeps. Jennifer was greeting people at the entrance and taking pictures of those in costume for the annual costume contest. Brian and I were supposed to enter in the couples category, but Brian was a spoil sport and didn’t want to go up to the stage. Oh, well. Our costumes this year were pretty lame anyway. The other costumes were way better. Amelia Earhart was my favorite.
When Zelda first appeared in the movie, I whispered to Jay that I wanted to be her for Halloween next year. He busted up laughing because he had the same thought. Except he said I’d be too tall. I never thought I’d be too tall for anything. LOL.
Poltergeist was actually more hilarious than it was scary. It’s funny how cheesy old horror films are. Of course, Jay was relentless with his side comments. We were having our very own version of MST3K.
I didn’t realize that Brian had never been to the Orpheum before. Since it was his first time, I wanted to be sure we got a photo. Hopefully, we’ll get to go again. It’s kind of an interesting place to watch movies. 🙂

The Fabulous Fleshtones Annual Halloween Bash
Posted on October 26, 2010 by Ching under Movies, Things to Do.
Since I had my days mixed up, the Dills and the Farrars didn’t get to go with us to The Fabulous Fleshtones gig at The Port of Wichita. Brian and I still had fun, though. We ran into Uncle Roy there, who I guilt-tripped into attending our Ponderosa Party.
Anyway, you’ll have another chance to catch The Fabulous Fleshtones if you missed them at The Port. Their annual Halloween party is going to be held at American Legion Post No. 4 (815 N. Water, Wichita, Kansas) this weekend, on the actual day of my birthday. There’s usually a small cover charge, but it’s loads of fun so Brian and I always go (unless we happen to be out of town).
We missed it the year that we went on the WPTAPL Halloween poker cruise (2008). I think we’ve attended every year that we’ve known about it, including last year. We’re really looking forward to it this year. So much so, that we actually moved my birthday celebration a week early so that we could attend. LOL.
The plan this year is to watch Poltergeist at the Orpheum (that’s going to be really creepy), before heading to the Halloween party. This is turning out to be another busy weekend. What about you? What are your plans this Halloween weekend? Come to the Orpheum to watch Poltergeist, and then join us at the Halloween party!

Dinner Conversation #1285
Posted on October 17, 2010 by Ching under Family, Movies.
FATHER-IN-LAW: [to Brian] Has Ching ever seen Morons from Outer Space?
CHING: No, but I’ve seen morons from Earth.
Alright. I wasn’t serious. It was just the perfect set up and I couldn’t resist.
Thanks for having us over for dinner last night, Mom and Dad B. It was delicious! We’ll have to do that again some time. 🙂

Movie Night with the Dills and Ashton
Posted on August 31, 2010 by Ching under Life, Movies.
Even before that other stuff, we had the Dills and their niece Ashton over for dinner. We had I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell (totally not appropriate for children or teenagers, by the way) so we ended up watching that. I hope that Ashton’s mom doesn’t find out because she will probably murder us or at least forbid Ashton from being around us ever again.
P.S. I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell wasn’t as good as the blog or book, which explains why it was straight to DVD. I can’t believe they got the guy from Bring It On to play in their movie. LOL. If you feel the urge to watch IHTSBH coming on, just rent The Hangover instead. =P
