My New “Art by Amy” Initial Pendant
Posted on January 18, 2009 by Ching under Wishlist.
I took Brian to the Pink Boa yesterday after my waxing at Beau Monde. I’m happy to report that, although he really enjoyed looking at all the novelty items in the store, he did not grow breasts as many have warned me might happen.
Anyway, my main purpose in going was to drop off my “Poker Slut” pendant so that they could have Amy re-solder the top corner. It had cracked and I didn’t want to wear it for fear of it falling off and breaking into a million pieces. I think I’m being overly paranoid about the whole thing, but I love the pendant so much (it has the “Poker Slut” large rectangle pendant with dice and royal flush baubles hanging on the bottom ~ it is just like the one Sunny has only better) that I figured I’d better be safe than sorry.
Steph took down my phone number so that they can call me in a few weeks when it is ready. It has only been a day and I can’t wait to get it back already.
In the meantime, I bought two more pendants at the store while we were dropping off my other one for repair. I got an initial pendant (pictured above) and a fleur de lis. I figured I could wear both with my silks that I had purchased to go with the “Poker Slut” pendant.
I didn’t intend to buy more stuff, but it’s hard to go to the Pink Boa and come home empty-handed. They just have such cool stuff. You won’t be able to help yourself. That’s my excuse, anyhow.
We were cleaning the room this morning and I found some brown suede cord necklaces. I tried it with the initial pendant and it doesn’t look too bad. I love that about “Art by Amy” stuff. Everything is interchangeable. Change the cord or silk and you have a totally new and different necklace. Plus, you can combine different pendants and baubles to create your own unique necklace.
I am totally addicted to “Art by Amy” stuff now. I want to create one using the heart necklace chain (the ones they sell at Pink Saloon) with “B” and “C” scrabble tiles on either side of the heart. Don’t you think that would look cool? I think that is what I will ask for on V-day. Hopefully, we won’t be too broke around that time.

Found My Old Toe Socks
Posted on January 18, 2009 by Ching under Moblog.
I found my old toe socks the other day while Brian and I were cleaning out the master bedroom. Our rule is that if it hasn’t been worn in over a year then it gets donated to Goodwill or tossed in the trash. I hadn’t worn these socks in a few years, but I wasn’t ready to part with them just yet so I wore them. Therefore, they’ve been worn recently and are not eligible to be donated or tossed. There’s always clever ways of getting around the rules that we set for ourselves.
Incidentally, these toe socks are great for if you want to wear flip flops in the winter. Not that I would want to do that, but the idea came to mind as I was thinking of reasons why I should keep my silly toe socks.

The Best Job in the World
Posted on January 18, 2009 by Ching under News, Videos.
I totally wanted to apply for this when I first heard about it. I have checked out the web site since then and watched the videos of some of the applicants and have decided, much to my dismay, that I don’t stand a chance. Anyway, they are accepting applications until the 22nd of February. If you are interested and qualified, make a creative video and send it. The pay is fantastic and the work environment is simply breathtaking. Check out Islandreefjob.com for more information.

I’m living this whole trip vicariously through Twitter and the ICT2DC web site. I like the lifestream plugin for quick updates about what the group is up to (tweets and Flickr image uploads). However, the real-time GPS tracking is my favorite feature. I could watch that page all day.

I’m So Over the Weirdness
Posted on January 17, 2009 by Ching under Poker.
This is a bit of a whiny post so if you didn’t feel like reading any whining today, feel free to skip this one.
I was kind of enjoying the weirdness there for a while. However, I fell victim to the weirdness last night. It’s not so great being on that end of it. I think the weirdness has hit its peak, though. It’s safe to say that, at this point, the clueless people far outnumber the people who make sense.
One of the most annoying things is having to play with someone who has no idea when it is their turn to be in the blinds and has no desire to understand this concept. I mean, come on. I’ve seen you playing here for several weeks now and you’re not drunk. How can you still not get it? And, it’s specially grating to me when just the other week I explained to you that you get to be small blind after being the big blind. Don’t ask the table if you are small blind every single time. Just freakin’ post it already.
Oh, and it is very annoying when blinds go up every three hands because every hand takes five minutes to complete. Common people. This is not rocket science. It shouldn’t take more than a second to figure out that you are supposed to fold 9 2 off suit. Regardless if someone raised or not. What are you still thinking about?
Oh, and most annoying of all are those people who have no clue what good hands look like and call someone’s $15,500 all-in with K 4 off. Come on, get a clue. That is just stupid. How can you get mad, though? Well, Brian can in these situations. I don’t think it’s appropriate to get mad, though. I mean, you don’t get mad at a baby when it does something bad or wakes you up five times in the middle of the night. You just deal with it. It doesn’t know any better. It doesn’t know that you have to be up at 6 am so you can get ready and go to work the next day. These people are just clueless. They are like babies. They don’t know any better. I can’t get mad at them for doing the wrong thing. All I can do is whine about it afterward.
Needless to say, my quest for the fourth final table in a row got thwarted by stupidity. I made the right choices and I had some luck on my side last night. My luck just got overran with clueless-ness and eventually ran out.
I realized last night that I can play with novices, but I cannot play with completely clueless people. Unfortunately, that’s all I’m running into these days in BCPT. It really makes me want to try Kandu. Then, again, from hearing Scott talk about it ~ there are a lot of clueless people playing Kandu as well. You just can’t get away from them. Maybe I just need to lay off poker for a while.
