Ching Victorious at Bowling

bowling scores

I decided to skip my Sunday step class in favor of bowling today. Jennifer and Armando, and Mom, and Tita Mila all joined us at Northrock Lanes where they do all-you-can-bowl from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for only $7 (includes shoes). Not a bad deal at all. The pizza was a little on the expensive side, but they have great pizza (as bowling alley pizzas go) so I guess it wasn’t bad either. The best part? Beating mom at bowling. LOL.

Mom bowled an average of 147 today compared to my 160 average. Brian wanted to know what his was and we figured it at 120. Bowling is the one game that I can consistently beat Brian. While Brian owns racquetball (I can never beat him at it for whatever reason), I definitely own bowling. We are about even at poker. I used to beat Brian at it, but he’s picked up his poker game in the last few years.

We’re playing racquetball tonight. Let’s see if I can finally beat Brian. That would really make my day.

Making Progress

some improvement - yay!

We made it to the gym this morning even though I wasn’t feeling well. Brian said I was tossing and turning and coughed a lot throughout the night.

Anyway, we had to cut our appointment with Landon short because I was worn out. We did have some good news. Brian and I have both lost 3% body fat since our first appointment with Landon a couple of weeks ago. We did our measurements just now and we have both lost 1.25 total inches also. Go us!

Gotta Love Facebook

Old School Picture

One of my old classmates (James) from elementary school (Saint Francis, Las Pinas) posted this photo on Facebook. That’s me on the very right. I think I was Logan’s age (about 8 or 9 years old) in this picture.

I believe this was the year we learned Basic programing and really started coding. James and I were pretty competitive and would try to outdo each other. I guess I have always had competitive tendencies. Today, it’s racquetball and poker. Back then, I wanted to be on the winning patintero and siato teams. I wanted to get the farthest in Legend of Kage and other video games. Even though I was short, I always tried my hardest to win at 10-20 and Chinese garter. Of course, I had to stop playing 10-20 and Chinese garter in 5th grade because that’s when my period started. When you are dalaga, it’s not so proper to be so bugoy anymore. Instead we just played volleyball. I never got to be as good as Pia or Eloi or Ging or Cel or Jane. Actually, I was never really any good at it but I always did my best and it was always a lot of fun. I still played video games on the Nintendo Family Computer, though. Basic programming was a lot of fun too. I really thought I was going to be computer programmer or software engineer like dad. I guess I just wasn’t cut out for that stuff.

I just love Facebook because it allows you to reconnect with old friends and schoolmates. And then they post pictures from lifetimes ago. The pictures bring back fond memories. It’s fun to look back. Those were the days…

Brian’s Monday Night Workouts

Posted on January 9, 2010 by under Health.

Brian and I met with Landon (physical trainer) this morning for a followup visit. He created workout routines for us to do on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Our appointment was only for 30 minutes each so he only had time to go over the routine for Monday. Hopefully, he’ll be able to go over both the Wednesday and Friday routines on our next visit. Brian’s Monday workout routine is as follows.

Our plan is for Brian to give this a dry-run tomorrow while I’m in my group fitness class. I’m curious if the entire routine can be done in an hour. Landon seems to think so. I’m kind of slow at setting up machines and stuff so I’m thinking I’ll probably take an hour and a half to do mine. We’ll see.

For tomorrow we have an hour of racquetball and then I go to 30 minutes of step followed by 30 minutes of core. Brian will do the workout routine above. I won’t be able to do a dry run of mine so I’ll just have to go for it on Monday.

I’m looking forward to burning some calories and getting rid of some excess baggage. How about you?

2010 HGTV Dream Home

Posted on January 9, 2010 by under Wishlist.

Have you seen the 2010 HGTV dream home? It looks absolutely amazing. This master suite is absolutely fantastic.

So I asked mom if she’d seen this year’s HGTV dream home. She said an emphatic, “No!”

Apparently she’s boycotting the HGTV dream home sweepstakes this year because they must have mailed a hundred or so entries last year, and she said that she and dad both entered online every single day that the sweepstakes ran, and they still didn’t win. LOL.

I usually enter only once or twice. That way if I don’t win, which is usually the case, then I’m not upset about all of the effort I expended, which usually is very minimal. If it’s meant to be, then you really only need one entry. If it’s not meant to be, then it’s not meant to be.

I told Brian that if I won the HGTV dream home, I’d probably drop everything and move. I was half-joking, of course. Have you seen the house, though? I could totally live there. In fact, I hear it calling my name right now. =P
