Best “Thank You” Card Ever

Posted on September 18, 2010 by under Babies.

I thought I would share this “Thank You” card that Brian and I received because it’s the BEST one that I’ve ever gotten. I’m pretty sure that it’s the best one that Brian has ever received also.

Not only does the card meet the requirements of a text-book “Thank You” card, but it is also personalized also. Notice that the photo inside the card is of Gavin with our gifts.

This is the first ever “Thank You” card I’ve received that is personalized in this way. When April gave the card to Brian and me at our camping trip a couple of weeks ago, I was speechless. I thought, “Wow!” All I could muster was, “This has got to be the best Thank You card ever!” I truly envy April because she’s one of the most creative and crafty moms I know.

So anyway, this blog post is a tribute to the best “Thank You” card ever. Way to go, April!

Busy Month!

Posted on September 15, 2010 by under Life.

The month of September is shaping up to be a busy month for the wife and I. To start we visited my wife’s friend Sheryl in Dallas. It was a fun trip and not too bad of a drive. I told my wife that the drive to Dallas was easier than the one to KC. I think its because there is more to see on the way to Dallas. We went with her parents and sister and had a blast visiting the Gallaria Mall and cooking out with Sheryl’s family.

Next we had my Mom’s birthday at PF Chang’s. We had not been here in some time and I had forgotten how good the food was. The wife and I split the Mongolian beef and added eggplant instead of the scallions, it was a lot of fun as well.

That Saturday we volunteered at Zoobalee. We has a blast at this event. We got to walk around the event before we had to work. We got to sample wines, eat lots of food and visit a few booths that had deals and freebees. It was great, then we had to work, which wasn’t that bad either. We just had to stand at a door and make sure that no one but members entered the party. It was fun. I hope we get to do it again next year.

Right now Ching is out of town on a work trip. When she has these over night meetings we get to chat over Google talk. Its great that technology has grown to allow this form of communication. How did the world cope before cell phones and the internet, barbaric!

On Saturday Ching will be working the fair for her company. I’m tagging along so that I can take pictures of all of the weird people that go to the fair. I think I may start a “people of the fair” website, like the “wall-creatures” site, it should be good for a laugh or two.

Next week Ching has another out of town meeting. This time almost all of her coworkers will be in attendance. Maybe they will offer her a big raise, hint…wink…elbow rub to the big boss, LOL.

Then at the beginning of October we have our friend Richards wedding. We are both looking forward to this because Richard and his wife to be are dancers.
We are expecting lots of dancing at the wedding reception. So much so that we are trying to start dance classes this Friday.

Hopefully after that things will calm calm down a bit and Ching and I can do a few things just the two of us. I’m thinking we should have a date night, maybe a nice dinner out, stroll around the Water Front or Bradley Fair, then dancing at club Suede. She loves this place because they have great salsa music, sometimes live.

So you can see that we have a pretty active lifestyle, but we like that. If it were not for my wife, I would not have experienced half of the things that we have done together. I know for a fact that I would never have left this country, I owe all of that to her. Hopefully next year we can go back to the Philippines and visit the resort we went to last time. We had a lot of fun then and I am sure we will again. I want to do the jet ski around the islands, I think that would be a blast.

Well I’m sire I will have more later. Till then.

Brian’s Health Assessment Do Over

Posted on September 13, 2010 by under Health.

Brian had to do his cardio fitness assessment over because his results were abnormal the first time. Take two still yielded abnormal results, but I guess it’s close enough. Brian just has a weird heart I guess.

2010-09-02 12.14.31.jpg 2010-09-02 12.13.59.jpgI love his abnormal heart, though.

No other heart would love me, with all my flaws and shortcomings.

No other heart would love me the way he does.

I love you, baby!

Yola’s Daughter’s Christening

Posted on September 12, 2010 by under Family.

We missed Yola’s daughter Kayla’s christening. It happened the same weekend as the camping trip. Brian didn’t have enough vacation to go with me to New Jersey, though. Plus, we were broke. 🙁

Here are some photos from the grand event:

I really wish we could have been there. I’ll get to meet Yola one of these days. For now, I guess there’s always Facebook.
