Celebrating with Grandma
Posted on May 13, 2012 by Ching under Family.
We had a great day celebrating Mother’s Day with Brian’s dad and grandmother at Olive Garden today. We lucked out and didn’t have to wait.
After lunch Brian and I went to Cabela’s to pick up some replacement sunglasses for him. Don’t worry. He didn’t get these ones.
We did get a good deal on his sunglasses, though. Again, not the ones pictured. They were on sale so we got them for $7. Not bad, eh?

Brian’s Yummy Pork
Posted on May 13, 2012 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Overheard in the shower this morning, “I’m looking forward to eating your pork later.” This was in reference to the barbecued pork strips that Brian made for dinner, for him and Jenni, last night. I have trouble with saying things that are easily taken out of context. LOL. I probably should have waited until we were out of the shower.
This sort of thing happens to me all the time though, both in pubic and in private. We all just laugh about it.
Anyway, I missed out on the pork strips because I had dinner plans with some girl friends. It was Jarrica’s bachelorette dinner/party thing.
So this morning, I told Brian that I was looking forward to eating his meat. The pork strips he cooked for dinner, I mean.
We got the meat from Yoder Meats yesterday after Zumba. I had no idea they had a store so close to Genesis. I’m really glad we got to try Yoder Meats because after tasting their pork, never again will I be buying pork from anywhere else. Yummy!

When Pigs Fly Bar-B-Que
Posted on May 12, 2012 by Ching under Food and Drink, Reviews.
Brian and I got to try When Pigs Fly for the first time this week. We constantly drive by it every time to we got Genesis West Central because it’s on the way. This last time that we drove by it, we finally decided to step inside and give it a try.
I was on my way to Zumba so I didn’t really want to eat too much. Brian and I decided to split a meal. It was a good call because there was plenty of food for both of us.
We got macaroni salad and coleslaw for our two sides. I wish I would have known it was garlic slaw because I hate garlic slaw. Theirs isn’t bad, though. As garlic slaw goes, it’s actually pretty good.
The pulled pork at When Pigs Fly is super delicious. I’m actually glad we went in. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other menu items. 🙂

Photos from Cinco de Mayo

This is what happens when you celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Children’s Day with a bunch of Zumba fanatics. Many thanks to Meader Woo and Gina Ann for the photos. They were the ones who had cameras that night. Thanks to Hideki for being an amazing host. We had a blast!
P.S. I doubt we even made a dent on Hideki’s fully stocked bar.

Mother’s Day is this Weekend
Posted on May 9, 2012 by Ching under Family.
Brian’s mom will be out of town this weekend so we gave her gift to her early. This weekend we’re having lunch with Brian’s dad and grandma. I haven’t yet heard back from my mom so I’m not sure what we’re doing. Maybe dinner?
If you’re not yet sure where you’re going to celebrate mom’s day on Sunday, hop on over to the Wichita Eagle for Denise Neil’s extensive list of restaurants offering Mother’s Day specials.
P.S. If you haven’t changed your Facebook profile pic to your mom’s yet, it’s time to do it. This is the time of year when everyone uses a picture of their mom as their Facebook profile photo. So make your mom feel special and put her face on your Facebook profile pic!
