Bedtime Conversation

Posted on July 17, 2010 by under Sex.

“Who’s your favorite movie star or celebrity?”

“I don’t know?”

“How about Jessica Alba? You used to love Jessica Alba.”

“Nah..”

“You don’t find her sexy?”

“Well, maybe that girl from True Blood.”

“Sookie?”

“Yeah, Anna Paquin. How about you?”

“Brad Pitt.”

“You can’t say Brad Pitt. That is so cliche. Everybody says Brad Pitt.”

“Okay, Ryan Reynolds then.”

“Who?”

“Guy in the Proposal… Van Wylder… Blade Trinity… Definitely Maybe…”

“Oh, Deadpool.”

“Yes, that guy! But not as the Deadpool character. Picture him in Van Wylder or the Proposal. That guy. So if Ryan Reynolds came in to town and he was willing to have sex with me, would you let me?”

“Are you serious?”

“Yes. I’m curious.”

“No.”

“Not even if you could have sex with Anna Paquin also?”

“I wouldn’t want to have sex with Anna Paquin.”

“Why not?”

“Because I’m married.”

“You’re no fun.”

The next morning…

“Alright. I’ve thought about our conversation from last night some,” I told Brian while he’s giving me this perplexed look.

He’s looking at me like, What the heck did we talk about last night?

So I continued, “Now that I’ve slept on it. I won’t have sex with Ryan Reynolds.”

Bwa ha ha ha ha ha! Gotta love those fantasies!

How Disappointing!

Airplane Broke (closer)

Brian uploaded his Germany pics to my Flickr account today. Only 21 photos. I was like, “That’s it?” He just shrugs. And to think I loaned him my camera on this trip.

“Give me my camera back. You are unworthy!” LOL.

If it had been me, I would’ve probably taken at least a hundred pictures a day. =P

New Brighton Necklace

Posted on July 14, 2010 by under Wishlist.

I absolutely love my “Ching” necklace. It’s my new favorite. Now I just need to get the letters B, R, I, A, and N.

Would anyone like to get them for me? They’re only $7.50 each.

You can get Brighton at Aida’s, Wild at Heart, K. Lane’s, or Von Maur. Or if you find yourself at Country Club Plaza where we were over fourth of July weekend, you can go to the actual Brighton store there. That’s where I got my Baja Braid Necklace and Brighton sunglasses. Although, I only got a couple of beads while we were in Kansas City. I bought the other beads from Wild at Heart. Their East location is just down the street from where we currently live. They have my other letters on order so I should be getting those soon.

Here are some of the items on my wishlist:

ABC Baja Braid Bracelet (in brown) to go with my necklace ($28)

ABC Baja Braid Spacers (in cognac and black) – I already have two of these in cognac (none in black yet) but could always use a few more ($15 each)

ABC Bali Heart Beads ($8 each)

ABC Cathedral Beads ($12 each)

ABC Classic Short Necklace ($34)

ABC Fleur de Lis Heart Charms ($10 each)

ABC Lucky Charm Holder ($40)

ABC Madera Cube Beads ($18 each)

ABC Mini Charm Necklace ($26)

ABC Mini Contempo Beads ($7 each)

ABC Mini Shine Beads ($5 each)

ABC Mosaic Heart Beads ($8 each)

ABC Pebble Beads ($8 each)

ABC Rocky Road Spacers ($6 each)

ABC Slide Bracelet ($30)

ABC Soho Beads are my absolute favorite; already have half a dozen and could always use more ($8 each)

ABC Contempo Charm Clasp ($10)

ABC Soho Charm Clasp ($10)

I could go on and on and on.. but this should take care of gift ideas for the next few years. I’m quite easy to buy gifts for, don’t you think?

P.S. I’m not just posting this to get free Brighton stuff like I got that free Ladder Golf game last month either. Though, it would be kind of nice if I randomly got some beads out of the blue. It would totally make my day!

We Got Lucky

Posted on July 12, 2010 by under Life.

Did I mention that we almost got a ticket last night? Brian and I were running a little late to dinner because I was reading a post from The Tasteless Humor Page to him that Jenni had shared with me earlier that day. It was so hilarious that I couldn’t even read it straight. I was laughing so hard that I was crying.

Finally got done with that so we hopped in the car and were on our way. Brian usually drives so he did. In hindsight, I probably should have driven.

We were on our way to Hana Cafe and Brian took the Central exit out of habit. No biggie though, because you can still get there using that route. It wasn’t until we passed Emporia (the street, not the town) that I realized he was completely out of it. (He wasn’t that out of it.)

I think I said something like “Where are we going?” or “Why are you taking us to work?” or something like that. This is the exact route that we take to work each day. Since we carpool, he drops me off at my building first.

He told me that he missed his turn. So you know what he does? He takes the next turn, which is Topeka. This is okay, because Topeka goes South and we needed to go South and turn back to Old Town. Except he took a left on 2nd Street to go East, but everyone knows that 2nd is a one-way street going West.

As soon as he turned, he realized his mistake. The good news was that the street was wide open (so there wasn’t a chance of colliding with anyone) because there were only two cars directly in front of us and they were both on the same lane — one behind the other. The bad news was that one of the cars was a police car.

Brian instantly realized his mistake so he took the first alley that he could take. As he did I said, “We are so getting a ticket.”

“I know,” Brian replied feeling completely defeated.

The cop car, was right behind us with its lights on. He didn’t even have to turn his lights on, though, because we both already figured we were doomed. Brian just turned into the alley and parked the car in the lot. As we sat there waiting for the policeman to come to the window, we agreed that I should have driven us to dinner. We decided right then that I would be the one to drive home.

Brian rolled the window down as the policeman approached. When the policeman peeked into the car from the driver’s side window, Brian immediately fessed up.

“I turned down the wrong street. I meant to turn on 1st,” he confessed.

“You need to be more careful. You can get in a wreck that way,” the cop told Brian and then walked off. We couldn’t believe our luck. He let us go!

Needless to say, our alley adventure made us arrive late for dinner because we were already cutting it close as it was. Jenni called me to ask where we were and I told her that we got pulled over. I promised to tell her what happened when we got there.

“We are so late,” I said — not really mad. Mostly just stating a fact.

Brian, who is anal about being on time or even early to everything, was not very happy. “I should never have driven.”

“Don’t worry about it,” I replied. “We’re still going to beat Richard there.” Naturally, I was right. We all agreed to meet at 7:30 pm. Brian and I got there at around 7:45 pm and it was about 8:00 pm by the time Richard and Amy showed up.

Our friend Richard is the exact opposite of Brian. Whereas Brian is always an hour early to stuff, Richard is always an hour late to everything. It’s funny because when we were making dinner plans, Richard mentioned meeting at 7:00 pm.

I was like, “So you really mean 8 o’clock, right? Are we going to be on real time or Richard-time?” He didn’t say anything, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I said, “Let’s cut the difference and say 7:30 — How does that sound?” He agreed. And so our plans were made.

As we were leaving our place, I sent him a text to tell him we were on our way. He replied back telling me that they had to drop off some people, but I took that to mean they were on their way also.

Jenni was already at the restaurant when Brian and I arrived. We were late, but there was no Richard in sight. I told Brian that I probably should have sent Richard the text telling him that we were on our way an hour before. LOL.

Somethings will surprise you. Like not getting a ticket. Whew! What a relief! Somethings never change.

Richard and Amy

Posted on July 12, 2010 by under Life.

Richard and Amy were in town for the weekend. Initially we were going to have dinner on Saturday, but when they found out that Brian was arriving on Sunday night we moved dinner to Sunday instead so that Brian could join us. It worked out because they had other friends they wanted to get together with on Saturday as well. That left me with nothing to do on Saturday at first, until I found out about the movie party.

The five of us (Richard, Amy, my sister Jenni, Brian and I) met for dinner at Hana Cafe. It’s one of Richard’s favorite places to eat when he’s in town. I guess this is because there’s not a lot of Korean options where he lives Texas.

Jenni bailed after dinner, but ended up being a long day for both Brian and I because I still had to submit the info from the mystery shop I’d done earlier that day. Since Richard’s mom just dropped them off while she went to visit with her friend, we ended up having them over to our place. We live close to where Richard’s mom was at anyhow so it worked out okay.

I decided to do my mystery shop survey while the three of them were out on the patio. The guys smoked Brian’s cigars. I figured this would help so that I wouldn’t be up all night after they left still filling out my survey. I still had to scan and upload my receipt, though. (I didn’t get all the way through the survey so I still ended up having to work on it after they left anyway. =P)

We ended up playing some Rock Band and Tekken, which brought back memories. Brian and Richard and I used to play Tekken Tag until the wee hours of the morning ten years ago when we lived at our townhouse on 32nd Street. It was still July 11 when our guests left so we didn’t end up playing video games until the next day.

Thank, God!

Brian and I both had to work the next day. I fully expected to work today, but I woke up completely exhausted from the long day. I ended up taking a day of vacation, which works out because I need to do Brian’s laundry from his trip anyway.

Brian went to work today because he has no vacation time. I’m not sure how he’s coping though. He was up for almost 24 hours from traveling. He must have gotten a nap while flying over the Atlantic.

I must say, I can’t wait until I can resume my normal routine!
