Back at MIF Deli
Posted on July 23, 2012 by Ching under Food and Drink, Reviews.
Brian and I had the most delicious lunch at MIF Deli after our workout on Saturday. Their food is so delicious. If you haven’t been you’re missing out.
I had the curry chicken salad, which is even more delicious than I imagined it would be. It’s so good that I tried to eat all of it, even after eating two stuffed grape leaves, half a kibbe ball, and a ton of their delicious humos and pita.
Brian had a meat pie, which is one of the things that MIF Deli is best known for. He had it the last time we were there and really liked it. It’s hard for me to believe that the restaurant has been around for three decades and I’d never been there until this year. And to think I used to work just down the street from their location.
The last time we were at MIF Deli, I was so delirious from the delicious food that I accidentally left my braces at the table. It was wrapped in a napkin so they thought it was trash and threw it away. Thankfully, it was still on top of the trash so when Brian and I came back for it they were able to find it and return it to me. That was really lucky. I’m glad that we remembered my braces before we got all the way home. There’s no telling if it would have been found had more time elapsed.
On this last visit, I didn’t allow the food high to make me forget my braces. LOL. I learned my lesson the last time.

Loco for Los Cocos
Posted on July 22, 2012 by Ching under Food and Drink, Reviews.
Brian and I stopped by Los Cocos the other day when we had to drop off some paperwork at mom’s house. I have to say, Los Cocos is one of my favorite places to eat in Derby. They serve typical Mexican restaurant food, but what sets them apart from other restaurants is their unbeatable daily drink specials.
Margaritas are $1.99 everyday. You heard me. EVERYDAY. Who needs happy hour, when you can get margaritas for less than a couple of bucks, any hour of the day, every single day? It’s not just one or two flavors either. I think they have at least half a dozen varieties and they’re all $1.99. But that’s not the best part. Jumbo margaritas are only $7 on Fridays and Sundays. Heck yeah!
I have a feeling mom and dad will be seeing a lot more of me now that there is a Los Cocos near their house. LOL.
P.S. The first encounter I had with Los Cocos was at Carmen and Nick’s wedding a few years ago. We liked the food so we used them for my 33rd birthday party. Probably no party this year because finances are tight. It would be nice to have one, though. I have a couple of caterers already in mind if we do.

Brian Gets a Haircut
Posted on July 22, 2012 by Ching under Tips.
Brian got his haircut at Great Clips yesterday. I normally don’t go with him because I like to do Group Power right before Zumba on Saturday mornings. However, I was being a slacker yesterday so I decided to hangout with Brian at the hair place.
The work stations at Great Clips are divided by these colorful sails. It makes me think of sailing. Don’t know whose idea that was, but it’s pretty creative.
Brian has been going to the same Great Clips location for several years now. He loves it because they know the kind of cut he wants and he says he always gets great service. The best part is their mobile app. Brian loves it because it keeps your place in line for up to two hours. He checks in on the mobile app and then gets right in at the salon when he shows up. There could be dozens of people waiting in line, but he doesn’t have to wait. It’s pretty neat. He usually gets lots of evil looks from the people waiting to get their haircut, but it’s not his fault they didn’t use the mobile app. LOL. We love, love, love businesses that embrace technology.
Here’s today’s tip: If you’re going to get a haircut and you’re not partial to a particular salon, consider going to Great Clips. Their mobile app works great!

I’ll Never Lose These Last 10 Lbs
Posted on July 19, 2012 by Ching under Confessions, Health, Reviews.
This is why I’ll never be able to lose the last ten pounds that I need to lose. We can’t stop eating out!
On the plus side, we are the #2 food blog in Wichita (just behind Chain Free Eating) and #3 in all of Kansas (just behind Roadtrips and In Pursuit of Pork). Woot!
If I’m going to be fat, at least I’m fat for a reason. Ha ha ha ha!
