Bad Credit Blues!

Posted on December 14, 2007 by under Sponsored Post.

Getting into debt is probably one of the worst things that can happen to someone. Trust me I know. I was up to my eyeballs once in debt, over $30,000.00 between 10 credit cards and then a house and car payment on top of that. It was a miracle that i did not get in to trouble and get a bad credit rating. However, some of my friends were not so lucky. I watched friend after friend keep spending, getting more and more credit cards then file for bankruptcy because they could not keep up with the payments. Now several years later my friends are recovered from there credit angst and are trying to build new lives with family’s and loved one’s. Except they have this bad credit looming over there heads like a storm cloud! One of my friends said that he found a place that let him shop for companies that would give him the credit he needed regardless of his past history. He said that they provide bad credit loans for just about anyone. He was excited because he was able to get out of this small apartment that he was in and got into a nice house house with the help of this place. he said they had links for all the major credit companies and he could look and compare all without having to go from link to link or having multiple windows open. If you are having a problem with your credit and want to get back on track this sounds like the way to go! I think I will tell my other friends that they need to look into this site as well.

Brian’s Big Week

Posted on December 13, 2007 by under Life.

Brian had been whining of late about how he hasn’t been hearing back from companies. His contract with LSI is up in June so he’s looking for a new job. He said he’d been applying for various jobs left and right, and nothing.

Well, guess what. He has three interviews this week! Go, Brian!

He is interviewing for a job at Koch on Monday, followed by Westar on Tuesday, and then Emprise Bank on Friday. I am so very excited for him. By the end of the week, he will be an expert at interviewing — something he is already good at now.

Things are looking up! Merry Christmas to us!!

Not Off the Hook Yet

Posted on December 10, 2007 by under Life, Movies, School.

I was really looking forward to today. Today was the day that I would finally be free from school. At least for this semester. Bad weather had to ruin my plans.

WSU shut down at 5p today. That meant postponing final exams originally scheduled for tonight until next Monday, December 17. That meant one more week of class before I am officially off the hook this sem.

The nice thing about not having to take my Marketing Management final until next Monday is that I will have the weekend to study. The bad thing is that studying is probably all I’ll be doing. I hope Thim doesn’t cancel his post-sem celebration. I was really looking forward to checking out his new house.

Anyway, since I didn’t have to go class I got to stay home and watch TV. Too bad there is no more Heroes. 🙁 The one night that I am actually home to watch it (instead of having to watch it on DVR), there is no Heroes. Brian had to remind me that we watched the final episode of the season last week.

Thank God for OnDemand! Brian browsed through several movies before settling on The Last Kiss. It’s a pretty good movie. Per usual, it made me cry. I only gave it three stars, though. I can’t believe that Eli gave it five stars. I probably would’ve rated it better if it was more realistic. Maybe it was realistic. I don’t know because you really don’t know how it ends.

I think they should split up. That’s the only logical thing for them to do. I can’t picture them staying together after what had happened. If they split up, then I’m giving it one more star. If they stay together, it stays as a three. LOL. I have a lot more to say about the movie/story but I’ll keep my mouth shut.

Miserable Weather

Posted on December 8, 2007 by under Sponsored Post.

It is 20 degrees outside right now with freezing rain to boot. Yuck! It is days like these that I really want to leave here, temporarily move to the Caribbean where there is nice tropical weather, and just come back when it’s late spring or early summer. I hate the cold weather, specially when the roads are bad.

Brian and I actually fishtailed in Bebot on the way to Bonefish today. The curvy street inside Waterfront (a short cut that Brian likes to take) is really slick. We should have known better than to take the side roads because they do not get salted.

Anyway, it doesn’t help when you constantly get emails about last minute holiday specials — makes it really tempting to get away for the holidays. There’s actually many last minute specials going on right now. I so want to go. Winter is a yucky time of the year. I’d like to skip it altogether. It’s a shame I only have two days of vacation left. Money is pretty tight, too. There are some great deals, though. So if vacation time weren’t an issue, we’d be so outta here!

Hairspray

Posted on December 5, 2007 by under Life, Movies, School.

I should really be studying. Instead I am watching Hairspray. I never to a chance to see it in theaters. It’s actually pretty good. Lots of fun. I loved it!

It was a nice break from the craziness that is this week..

  • Monday, I had to turn in book review number two for Marketing Management. The due date was December 3, but we could have turned it in without penaltry through noon on December 10. I didn’t want to do that, though, becuase I had other deadlines.
  • Tuesday, I took Part I of the final exam in FIN 860: Cases in Finance. It only took 30 minutes, but looking back I really should have spent an extra couple of minutes to double-check my math. I think I made some really stupid calculation errors because my WACC is whack! Pun intended! Tee hee! I am a nerd. Not as nerdy as Chad, though. =P
  • Wednesday, would be tonight. I just watched Hairspray and we are now watching Superbad (another movie that we did not get to see in theaters because of my busy schedule). I am taking a much-need break from school work. I really should be studying, though.
  • Thursday, I have to take Part II of the Cases final. Then after that Brett, Chad, Anna, and I turn in our group project in FIN 620: Investments. Tomorrow night is the final class night in for my Thursday classes.
  • Friday, is poker night. Naturally.
  • Saturday, I have my regular every-other-week waxing (now at Beau Monde, previously at Individually Yours but Patricia moved so I moved with her) and then Brian and I are getting an hour-and-a-half couples massage (also at Beau Monde). This is our Christmas to each other. There will be no presents this year. We need a massage more. Stress is bad for your back. At least, it is bad for mine.

Saturday afternoon we are playing in the $1500 poker tourney for BCPT. Brian and I both qualified! Hurrah for us! Brian barely made it. He didn’t qualify until November 30 when he took 8th. It was the last possible day for him to qualify. LOL.

  • Sunday, this will be my day to work on my individual project for Investments. Hopefully, I can get a lot of it done. Otherwise the rest of the coming week will be spent working on it until the due date. I would really hate to be working on this project all of next week. Ugh. Miserable.
  • Monday, I take the final in Marketing Management. I need to find some time between now and then and squeeze some studying time in my busy schedule so I don’t completely bomb the exam. I really want to get an A.

Life is pretty boring. Mainly it’s just work, school, homework, poker. That’s pretty much it, with a few movies squeezed in. Hopefully, we can find time on Saturday night or Sunday night to celebrate my 3.875 GPA before it comes crashing down. Just kidding. If I don’t get any Bs this sem, it will actually go up to a 3.90 so cross your fingers for me. I am so looking forward to the end of this sem already!
