El Laberinto del Fauno

After watching Pan’s Labyrinth it is easy to see why it has received such a positive response. Ivana Baquero did a wonderful job in the role of Ofelia. She is a natural.

The film has elements reminiscent of me of Legend, Labyrinth, and Alice in Wonderland. Guillermo del Toro did an outstanding job of writing and directing this film. I really enjoyed watching it, even though it was subtitled. I think Brian would have enjoyed the movie more if it were dubbed in English. He doesn’t like to have to read subtitles because then he misses parts of the movie. Although, Dawn’s daughter Amber has a great suggestion to combat this. “Just watch the movie twice,” she says. The first time you read the subtitles, and then the second time you just enjoy the movie.

Anyway, I highly recommend this movie. It is well worth enduring the subtitles.
