Spybot Search & Destroy

I recently read this article about spyware in PC Mag so I downloaded Spybot Search & Destroy which is the editor’s pick among all the spyward detectors and removers reviewed. Brian and I both ran the program and exterminated all the bugs from both of our computers. As with everything I do, I kind of got a little carried away so I increased the security level on my browser to maximum to prevent “drive-by downloads” and unauthorized scripts from running. I am such a moron! Let me tell you! Pia and I were dicking with her new forum last night and I could not freaking login. It was only until after I couldn’t login to Blogger also that I figured out the problem. My maximum-security privacy settings were prohibiting the sites from using cookies to authenticate my identity. Needless to say I’m back to medium security on everything but at least everything is functional again. More grrr!
