Wish Me Luck

We’re going back to the Kansas Coliseum again tomorrow. Yes, I’m a glutton for punishment. I have vowed to myself that I’m going to forgo working out (working, studying, eating, sleeping, breathing, everything) and enter each qualifying tourney until I qualify for the finals in April. I am so jealous of Mano. He qualified already. He took 84th out of over two thousand poker players on Saturday, the very first day of the event. That’s amazing. Actually, I know a few people who have already qualified. So I thought to myself, this is easy. If they can qualify, then so can I. Easier said than done. Brian, Jason, Dill, Becca and I decided we would all go there together on Sunday. We all ate breakfast at IHOP first and then headed over to the Coliseum. Sunday was much better than Saturday according to Jason who was there with Mano the day before. I guess it was just total chaos on Saturday. But it was pretty organized on Sunday when we got there. We didn’t even have to wait in line or anything. I guess that would be partly because there were fewer people who came out this time (less than two thousand) unlike the day before. We all got knocked out well before the final one hundred. Jason outlasted us all getting to about the final one hundred and fifty players. But then he had an advantage having played the day before. We all entered the losers bracket in the afternoon. Brian and I didn’t fare so well in the losers bracket either. We both got knocked out at almost the exact same time, about thirty minutes into the game. Pretty pathetic, huh? Anyway, Brian (one of the APL hosts) told me last night that next time that I get invited to the feature table I should go. He asked me on Sunday but I was doing so well at my table that I didn’t want to move. We ended up having to move as the tables and players got fewer anyway, and sure as hell my luck went to the crapper. Looking back I’m thinking I should’ve gone to the feature table. Perhaps my luck would’ve been better. I think will go if I’m invited to the feature table again tomorrow. Maybe I’ll last much longer that way. At any rate, it’s time for us to go meet Jason and Corey at Warren East for the 10:10 PM showing of Constantine. We going to be in the balcony so I’m going to do some drinking.
