Mardi Gras

Posted on February 12, 2005 by under Life, Poker.

We had fun last night. I think it helped put me in a better mood. I’ve been rather depressed lately. I really have no reason to be depressed. Brian is still out of work, but we are doing okay financially (bills are paid, we’re not starving, we’ve got extra money for poker still) so I really shouldn’t be depressed at all. The only thing that I really miss is shopping. But that’s nothing to be depressed about, really. Anyway, we spent a lot at Loft 150 the other night and last night was a repeat. The food was great, though, so it was worth it. Jeromy and Sarah went to dinner with us at PF Chang’s. You all probably know this from the pictures already, if you regularly check the Flickr album. After Chang’s Jason, Jen, Brian and I went to The Shadow to celebrate Mardi Gras. I didn’t really feel like it, but I felt like I owed it to Chris because I promised that I would come to their beach party last time and then I didn’t show up. And then he’s been coming to Thursday night poker so I thought I should attend their party. The party was alright. There’s not much of a dance floor at The Shadow so we didn’t really do any dancing. I enjoyed watching Gina An perform, though. She’s THE shadow dancer. She’s awesome! Anyway, Jen got a little crazy last night. She flashed her boobs at Chris for no apparent reason. I guess she’s really wild. I’ve just not been exposed to it because we don’t go out together all that much. It’s amazing how little I know about my own sister. Each day I learn something shocking about her. I guess I’m a lot less outgoing in real life. We’re often more brazen when we’re in front of the computer screen. I’m beginning to realize how I am totally different when I blog or chat. I notice that I’m a lot less inhibited when I’m just typing stuff, often sharing a little too much when I blog. The internet has that effect on people, I suppose. We were so out of it last night that we forgot out PF Chang’s leftovers in the car. I didn’t remember it until Brian drove me to the Y this morning. What a waste of good leftovers! Anyway, I guess this is it for now. Brian is telling me to hurry so we can go to his parents’ house for dinner. It’s on a Saturday this week because we have poker at the Kansas Coliseum tomorrow. Our friend Mano already qualified. He finished 85th in today’s first session. Hopefully Brian and I will qualify tomorrow so that we can have our weekends free again. I really need to get back into working out because I gained five pounds in the last three weeks, which is very, very, very bad! Alright, I’ll write again tomorrow. Maybe with some good news. Wish us luck!
