Erin’s Lingerie Shower

Erin’s lingerie shower at Yia-Yia’s went really well. Ashley did great in reserving that private room for us so we were free to talk about all sorts of things without being worried about offending any of the other restaurant patrons. With the doors closed, no one outside was the wiser. It was just us girls: Paige, Ashley, Erin, Kelly (Erin’s sister), Molly, Sarah, Savannah and myself.
The privacy worked especially great for the opening of gifts because, as you know, we all got lingerie stuff. I don’t know how that would have gone over with all the other prying eyes if we weren’t in the “special” private room.
Audra’s brother was our server. I didn’t know he was back in town. Many years ago he left for missionary work (they are Mormons) and that was the last I had seen or heard of him. I couldn’t remember his name to save my life so I didn’t say anything. I don’t know if he recognized me but he didn’t let on. I did recognize him, though.
I didn’t drink much (just one bellini, the rest of the time I drank water) so my bill wasn’t that bad considering Yia-Yia’s is kind of pricey. My bellini was $5 and my entreé was $15. With tax my total came to about $22 and then I wrote it for $30, leaving him an $8 tip. Not just because I knew him, but also because he was pleasant, patient and professional (the 3Ps of serving – LOL).
Of course, my damage was nothing compared to Ashley’s! Molly didn’t have enough cash and she didn’t have a debit card so between the two of them, they decided that Molly would just write Ashley a check and then Ashley would just include hers with her own tab. Ashley picked up Erin’s (the honoree) since she was the host. With three people on her tab, all huge drinkers, the damage was pretty bad. It could rival the WTC catastrophe.
It was all good and fun, though, so it was well worth any over-priced meal any day. After all, it’s not every day that your friend gets married.   Â
