The Ladies of Terminator: Salvation
Posted on May 24, 2009 by Ching under Movies.
Here’s a bit of trivia for you. Did you know that Bryce Dallas Howard is the daughter of famous director Ron Howard? Besides having the same last name, the red hair should have tipped me off.

How I Met My Husband
Posted on May 24, 2009 by Ching under Life, Memes, Travel.
Molly did this on Facebook, so I figured I would follow suit. Not that anyone is interested in this information but, in case you were wondering, well… Here it is.
Where did you meet?
Brian and I first met in May 1999 at Walt’s in Piccadilly Square (Central and Rock Road). He was there with his coworkers. They were celebrating some promotions.
Who introduced you?
Brian’s coworker, who I was dating at the time, introduced us.
What was the first thought that went through your head when you met?
He’s funny, but not my type.
Do you remember what he was wearing?
He was wearing his FedSex shirt, a baseball cap (I think the one that says “Flip” on it), a pony tail (he had long hair then) and a goatee. [Brian says he was wearing a polo shirt, though… But I think it was his white FedSex shirt that he was wearing that night.]
Where was the first place you kissed this person?
I honestly don’t remember. Neither does he. It’s confusing because we weren’t romantic in the beginning. We were just hanging out as friends.
How long did you know this person before you became a couple?
About six months or so. We met in May and by the end of that year, I had moved in.
Do you have kids with this person?
No. Brian and I do not have any children.
Have you ever broken the law with this person?
Not that I’m aware. Although, we are very affectionate in public so we might have disgusted people a time or two.
When was the first time you realized that you liked this person?
I wasn’t attracted to Brian when we first met, but I liked him instantly. He was (and still is) funny and charming. I realized I was in love after we broke up for the third and final time (still in 1999, we fought a lot when we first starting dating because I had a lot of issues to work through). I was the one who broke it off, but I couldn’t even last 24 hours. I was so miserable. It was then that I realized I could not live without him. We have been through a lot since then and our bond continues to grow stronger each day. I’m really glad we got all of that fighting out of the way in the beginning. 😉
Do you get along with his family?
Yes. Brian is a weird one. He actually took me to meet his parents on our first date (we went to see Arlington Road at their recommendation). Who does that?
Do you trust this person?
Yes. His driving? Not so much. Just kidding, baby!
Do you see him as your partner in the future?
Definitely. We plan to grow old together.
His birthday month?
June. It’s coming up!
Does he make you happy?
Yes. No one has ever loved me as much as Brian has, and probably no one ever will. He loves me more than I love myself and he takes good care of me.
Does he have any piercings?
Both of his ears are pierced and he does wear earrings. They’re manly earrings, but they’re earrings nonetheless. It’s one of his quirks.
Does he have any scars that you know of?
Yes. One that he is particularly proud of was acquired when he was a little boy. He was looking at his naked body in the bathroom mirror and fell.
Is he outgoing or shy?
I’d never describe Brian as shy so I would have to say he is outgoing. He is anti-social, though, so he doesn’t seek out social situations. He’d rather stay home and watch a movie. However, once in a social setting, he’s pretty outgoing.
Does he sing?
No. He hates karaoke.
Have you ever dated anyone in his family?
No. That would just be too weird.
Do you like his friends?
Yes. They’re all nerds like us.
Does he have any tattoos?
Yes, quite a few. He didn’t have any tattoos when we first met. His first one is of our initials and wedding date. He’s had a few more since then.
Do you like his siblings?
Sure. Brian has one brother, but he is estranged so we haven’t seen him in several years. He is a nice guy, though. The three of us lived together for a year, before Brian and I moved into our house in 2001.
Do you have any nicknames for each other?
We call each other “Baby.” That’s about it. We have nicknames for other stuff.
Do you have any pets together?
We used to, but not currently.
When will you guys do something exciting next?
We like to travel so we try to plan something each year. For our 5th anniversary, we decided to splurge and spent a week in Jamaica. Last year we attended our friends’ wedding in Vegas and also went on a poker cruise (as dealers, that was quite an adventure). This year Brian will get to visit the Philippines for the first time. We are going with mom and dad, and we’ll mostly be staying at their house in Tanjay. I’m excited for Brian to meet our extended family and also do some touristy things (all those things I never got to do as a local) so we’ll probably spend a couple of nights at one of the many beach resorts nearby. We will definitely do lots of sight-seeing and take plenty of pictures.

Our First Photo Walk
Posted on May 23, 2009 by Ching under Flickr, Things to Do, Web.
When I first told Brian about going on the Delano photo walk, he wasn’t so thrilled. If he had his choice, he’d sleep until 1 pm. The last couple of Saturdays, I’ve managed to find things to do that require us to get before 8 am so he’s not too happy with me right now. However, I made it clear that his presence at today’s photo walk was entirely optional. He was reluctant, but decided to go citing that he would never let me walk along Delano by myself. I pointed out to him that the photo walk is during the day and I’d be with a bunch of other people so I wouldn’t exactly be by myself. Brian is a bit paranoid, though.
Though it wasn’t quite how he envisioned his Saturday morning, Brian went and actually had fun. I think it’s safe to say that Mr. Reluctant is eager to attend the next one. We both agreed that we needed a real camera, though. After looking at some of the photos taken by others, ours just look blah. We blame it on the camera.
Days like to today make me wish I had a real camera, but then I can’t justify spending the money on a nice one because I’d never be able to find the time to learn how to use it. There’s nothing more sad than a fantastic camera that’s gone to waste. For now I’ll have to live with my point-and-shoot. If the picture isn’t quite right, I can always edit it in Picnik. =P
Here are some of my favorites from this morning’s photos…

My Badge of Honor [Geekiness]
Posted on May 23, 2009 by Ching under Web.
A Geek Chart is a pie chart which shows where you do most of your sharing. Mine is particularly interesting because it gives equal portion to Flickr and Twitter.
I felt sure that Flickr would have a greater slice of the pie. I have almost 20,000 photos on Flickr and have been a member from the very beginning (since early 2004), while I’ve only been on Twitter since 2007 and have less than 5,000 updates. It was interesting to me that Flickr and Twitter came out even on my chart. I wonder what kind of algorithm they’re using… Hmm.. Anyway, you can check out my Geek Chart page here.
P.S. I also wonder if this chart will dynamically update over time. I guess we’ll see.
