Stargate Atlantis, Season 4

Posted on January 8, 2008 by under Reviews.

Season 4 of Stargate Atlantis continues tomorrow January 4th and I am excited as always. This year is being promoted as one of the better seasons. With the war between the Replicators and the Wraith reaching explosive proportions and the Atlantis team trying desperately to stay out of the cross hairs of both parties. However, it looks like an alliance with the Wraith is going to be needed in order to defeat the greater threat of the Replicators. Look for the Atlantis team to be weary of there new alliance with the Wraith, due to past encounters that the Wraith have tried to exploit. I am sure that the Wraith are going to do everything in there power to find a way to turn the alliance in their favor while the replicators will put up a fight in order to save the existence that they have created for themselves. I also look forward to see how they incorporate this new rouge group of replicators that want nothing to do with this war but instead want to ascend like the Ancients that created them. I will be curious if this new band of replicators will get wiped out with the rest of them or will they in time see that their counter parts were correct and be a threat to the Atlantis team again, possibly worse this time. All-in-all I think that this season is going to be great and action packed. I would like to see them incorporate more of the SG-1 team into the mix and possibly down the line merge the two series as one with multiple story arc’s from the Earth side as well as the Pegasus galaxy. I think that if they want to keep this franchise alive and mimic the success of the SG-1 series, they will have to broaden the story arc’s and incorporate a more complex format. I can see this series going for quite some time with fan’s clamoring for anything that is produced. I look forward to tomorrow and will provide you with an update to this after I watch the episode.

We Are Well On Our Way

Posted on January 6, 2008 by under Sponsored Post.

With the dresser and TV finally out of the office, it feels like we are well on our way. I’m getting really excited about how the room will turn out. I can’t wait!

I really hope that we can get the house ready to put on the market by summer, though. Our house doesn’t have a fireplace and I think it will be less obvious if we are selling it in the summer because it’s not so essential during that time of year. If we sell during the winter, people are really going to notice that we don’t have one.

Although, I found this neat web site online. DESA Online Outlet has some great heating products in addition to their selection of power tools, chainsaws, lights, switches, and chimes products. I was thinking that we could install a propane gas fireplace. DESA has a great selection of decorative mantels, too. Anyway, it was a thought. Besides indoor heating products, DESA also has gas garage heaters, wall heaters (a great option if you have limited space), and some nice patio heaters. I get really excited about these things so I feel compelled to share them with everyone. Check ’em out when you get a chance.

Battlestar Galactica, Season 4

Posted on January 6, 2008 by under Reviews.

Little is out about the up-coming season 4 of Battlestar Galactica, other than a few promo trailers and the new premier date of March 2008. Looking around the web I am finding no leaks about the season other than rumor and speculation, nothing concrete. I anxiously await the premiere because of how season 3 ended, with Starbuck decked in white telling Apollo “Follow me” like some kind of messiah. It was exciting and spine tingling all at the same time. I literally had hairs standing up because I wanted to see what happened next. I scoped out the Sci-Fi channel web site and could not find anything other then the normal “Test your BSG Knowledge, take this quiz” stuff that they always do. From what I have seen of the previews and from what I have heard through the grape vine, I am sure that this season will be a great one. I know that they are going to incorporate more of the Pegasus crew into the story line and hopefully shed some light on what happened to Starbuck and maybe answer some of the questions that have now come up thanks to the “Razor” mini movie that was released. It seems to me that the creative team behind “Battlestar Galactica” is working to raise the bar of every new season. I just hope that they can keep up this momentum and the rumors floating around the water cooler about this being there final season are just that, rumors!

Our Day Today

Posted on January 5, 2008 by under Family, Food and Drink, Games, Life.

We decided to take the day off from working on the office. I was supposed to wake Brian up at eight or nine, but he was sound asleep so I didn’t get him up until eleven or noon or so. Anyway, that pretty much killed our morning.

We got up, showered together and decided that lunch at Olive Garden was in order. We were both really good during the week, bringing lunches to work and making dinner instead of eating out so we figured that we deserved a nice lunch date. I had recently watched Alton Brown making meatballs on the Food Channel so I was craving some spaghetti and meatballs (except I had to substitute spaghetti with capellini because I like the skinny noodles better). Brian decided to be adventurous. He tried the lasagna rollatini with chicken, a new special menu item. It was delicious! I think we will have to go again and just split that next time. The serving he received was enough to feed two people.

After our late lunch, we went to visit grandma and grandpa at Cherry Creek. We are donating some stuff from the office: our old dresser, TV, and VCR. The activities director was really thrilled to find out that we didn’t want any money for it. They’d been wanting a new TV for the activities room because the one they have is ancient. This one isn’t exactly new but if you’ve seen the one they currently have in there, it’s a huge improvement. Brian was scoping out where we would put the stuff. We are delivering the items tomorrow.

Anyway, we brought grandma and grandpa a tin of Godiva chocolate and toffee covered caramel popcorn and a case of Ferrero Rocher, grandma’s favorite chocolate candy. At Christmas we promised them that we would swing by and bring them some special munchies and finally had the opportunity. Grandma, grandpa, and their friend John were playing Phase 10 in the activity room when we got there.

We spent the rest of the afternoon at Tim’s where we met some of Tim’s coworkers: Errick (who is in the MBA program also), Chase and his wife Tiffany (who made this excellent chocolate cake), and Tim’s other coworker who is a transplant from California. She didn’t stay very long, though, so we didn’t have the opportunity to get to know her very well.

Chase and Tiffany brought their two-month old baby Titus. They were the next to leave and Errick left shortly after. Don, Sarah, and her husband Tony came too. The five of us were the last to leave. We left at the same time Sarah and Tony did. Don was still there and contemplating eating again as we were leaving.

It was an interesting afternoon/evening. Tim’s house is really nice. I think it is big for a single guy but it is in a great neighborhood (Chestnut Ridge, where Everett and a few of Brian’s other coworkers live also) so he could very easily raise a family in his new house. If anything, he can probably sell it in a few years for a very nice profit.

I tried several times to bring up playing a game. I wanted to play Catchphrase but Brian wouldn’t let me. Everyone was busy chatting and visiting, though, so maybe it wasn’t the right time. Once we get the house all sorted out (or after we move to the new place, wherever that might be) maybe we can have people over. Then they will have to play by my rules and we’ll play Catchphrase. LOL.
