Ginger and Star’s cage arrived today. We immediately put it together. I can’t wait until the cage accessories and toys that we ordered arrive. I hope that Ginger and Star like their new home. They’re going to be soo spoiled!
The time is now 12:20 am. It is officially Monday. After a whole weekend of struggling with Homework 5, I think I’ve finally got it! Now I just have to test it to make sure nothing else is broken. Ritchie, thanks for all of your help but no thanks for abandoning me today during my most confused state. =P Naturally, I think the world revolves around me and I am prone to forgetting that other people have their own lives and problems to deal with. Seriously, though, you have been such a big help. I appreciate all that you’ve done for me and I appreciate the time that you spend chatting back to me when I ask my stupid ASP questions. Beggars can’t be choosers so I’m thoroughly grateful that I can even have two seconds of your time. You are the best! I’m sucking up because I may need help from him later on. And even though he has a habit of abandonding me during the most crucial moments of coding and debugging, he has a lot of knowledge to impart. Gotta stay on his good side. =) Besides, I understand that he has his own life to live so I realize that he’s not going to be available all the time. I’m not completely dense!

In keeping with my promise to share with you cool new internet discoveries, I present to you stamps using your very own photographs through a company called Zazzle. Zazzle has partnered with Flickr to make this new feature available to Flickr users. If you are living under a rock or you are just not cool enough to have a Flickr account of your own, then this is yet another reason to get one.
I mean, real stamps that you can mail bills with using your own photos and designs. How cool is that? You could even take a close up picture of the hand of someone giving finger and use that to stamp your credit card company payments. How fitting!
On a more positive note, you can use these personalized stamps to spice up your holiday cards. So it has more uses than just saying FU to your creditors. This has got to be the greatest invention since sliced bread. It takes stamp collecting to a whole new level. Kudos to Zazzle for making my best of 2005 list. I love it!
Check out or BML recipe cards that will be in the glider room and on the refrigerator door. Talk about anal!
Nerdiness + super excitedness together = nuerotic people like Brian and Ching. Yes, you think it was all me. Brian is actually just as nuts as I am when it comes to the sugar gliders. We actually fought over who got to make the recipe cards. Since I am a control freak, I ended up typing the document and saving it in the special sugar gliders folder that Brian created in his computer’s My Documents folder (still loving the home network). I let Brian dictate the recipe to me and feed the 4 X 6 index cards into the printer so he got to participate. He wanted to be the one to do everything, though. But you all know how anal I am, the formatting has to be just so (mandatory 10 pt Verdana, 1.5 line spacing, that sort of thing).
When we purchased our sugar gliders last Sunday, we told them that we would pick up our babies in two weeks because we were actually timing the arrival of internet orders (which we were placing shortly after; I was lucky that all the vendors that I selected were very reliable; everyone provided me with Fedex, UPS and USPS tracking numbers). Anyway, we wanted to make sure that we had the glider room (formerly the spare bedroom that became the junk room which we dubbed the cat room because their litter boxes are in there), cage and toys all ready for the sugar gliders’ homecoming.
Everything is falling into place perfectly. The cage (you’ve seen the picture; and if you haven’t, just scroll down a couple of blog entries) arrived on Friday and the rest of our orders will arrive this week. Plus, we went shopping for sugar glider foods today so we should be ready with a batch of BML for our babies.
We also went to Gupton’s and bought these Lixit guinea pig igloos which we are going to use to house the meal plate for feeding time. That way Ginger and Star won’t paint our walls with BML. From what Sara says, it is nearly impossible to scrape off your walls because it dries worse than glue. Remember our ghetto Tupperware with a hole on the side of it idea? We are nixing that in favor of a far more fashionable Lixit igloo alternative.
Anyway, it is all very exciting. I think the cats know something is up because they’re already starting to act jealous. Except for Jesus who has been very mature about everything.
Can you imagine how insane Brian and I will be when we actually start having real human babies? I’m thoroughly afraid of the notion. I think that is part of the reason why we feel we aren’t ready to procreate. We know what we are like. We’ll probably go bankrupt buying toys and clothes and bedding and all sorts of things before the baby is even delivered.
By the way, I’m supposed to be working on my homework 5 for MIS 610 (advanced transaction management; the continuation of the homework from hell) right now but I am stuck and I can’t find ASP master Ritchie (the god of all things ASP) on Yahoo! Messenger. I am totally indebted to him for helping me clean up my code, giving me some life-changing ASP code advice and for debugging homework 4 this morning. Alas, I am once again stuck and in desperate need of help. Ritchie, wherever you are right now, I need you! Please hurry home and get on Yahoo!
In the meantime, since I have no clue how to proceed, I’m blogging. I have plenty of other homeworks and projects due in other classes, but I’m hopeful that Ritchie will emerge on Y!M any minute so I’m sitting here, periodically checking Y!M while I blog. Extreme wishful thinking on my part since it’s a Saturday night and normal people are out drinking and having fun. Except for me.
I sooo hate school work! I really should’ve gone to Neighbors to play poker instead! I can’t proceed with coding anyway! =P
I have decided that if I’m ever going to be taken seriously as a graphics artist I need to have serious graphic art tools. I have pretty much everything, however I need one final component. The Cintiq 21UÂ digital Wacom tablet. This thing is awesome, you can actually draw directly on the tablet itself. The tablet is used by professional artist all over the world from Disney to Marvel. I believe that if I had this tool, I would finally be able to fulfill my dream of becoming a graphics artist. What I will do to see if anyone is willing to help me is, get my wife to add a button to both hers and my web site that will allow you to donate to my cause. Anyone that has seen my art knows that this will only improve my abilities and allow me to do more outstanding works for you to enjoy. Keep an eye out for the button and please, please help me out.
