Canon Powershot SD10

Posted on October 7, 2003 by under Wishlist.

Okay, I’ve got some pictures but they will have to wait.  Kind of busy with school right now, particularly with my Saturday classes.  Normal, semi-regular blogging will resume in November.  In the meantime, I’ve got something new to share on the “want” list.

It’s the new Canon SD10 ultra-compact set to be released on Thursday.  You can preorder on Amazon now but if you’re preordering one for yourself, please remember to order two (one for you and one for me, heh).  Seriously, though..  It kicks ass.  I want it as a supplement to my clunky but bad-ass G3.  Forget the Nikon SQ!  LOL!

[ I had some pictures here but dpreview doesn’t allow hot-linking so they are off now.  Just go to the link above to look at the pics of the SD10.  Thanks! ]

It comes in four so very stylish colors and you can even get a waterproof case!  Have you ever seen anything cooler?!  I’m orgasmic just looking at pictures of it on the internet.  Can you imagine what I would if I actually had it?  I would explode!

P.S. It also happens to be $100 less than the Nikon SQ that I initially wanted.  Good thing I haven’t bought it yet.  It just goes to show that it really does pay to wait.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

Here are some of the pictures that I promised from our road trip to Topeka with Brian’s parents a couple of weeks ago. There are over sixty pictures total so I’m not posting them all here. Just some highlights for you to view. The rest are posted in Ofoto. Just email me if you want to see the rest. I don’t bore all the unsuspecting visitors out there.

Sorry about the delay! =)

Halloween Photos

Posted on October 4, 2003 by under Family, Life.

Are you ready for some Halloween pictures? Here they are! Enjoy!

The first set of pictures were taken a week before Halloween. It was Brian’s Halloween costume rehearsal.

See the facial hair? We took care of that.

He looks good as a woman, huh?

Finally, it’s Halloween! This is Brian without his wig and before putting makeup on.

More pictures of Brian…

This is me as a punk rocker..

A picture of my mother-in-law in her costume..

Some folks at work..

Lastly, pictures taken at Tita Rose’s house..

People were doing team competition on Magic Sing. Us Filipino folks take our karaoke seriously! They had team and A and team B. I was the fifth member of team B and when it was time for Brian and I to leave I had to make sure that I found someone to replace me. Thankfully, Tita Rose was available for karaoke.

The funniest part is that Tito Alan slept through all of the racket! He must have been really, really tired that day!

School Update

Posted on September 24, 2003 by under School.

This semester has really been a blast.  I’ve thoroughly enjoyed going to school — except for the waking up at the butt-crack of dawn part.  Other than the early hours, I have no complaints.  I am kicking ass and so far my prediction will be all As this semester.  Hooray for me!

Brian has been on vacation all of this week and, the wonderful husband that he is, he took me to school and hung out with me on campus yesterday.  I have Accounting from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM and I’ve got this long break until my next class which is Macroeconomics at 11:00 AM (for those of you who don’t know my history with the university, I went from Computer Science to Computer Engineering back to Computer Science only to end up as a Business major — pretty sad but that’s life).  During my break we went and ate breakfast at Copperfields and then shot some pool in the basement.  It was a lot of fun.  I really enjoyed having him here.  I wish that it would have been warmer so we could have taken some photos.  Perhaps next time.

By the way, since Brian has been home (with him being on vacation and all) I’ve been leaving the webcam on 24/7.  Has anyone seen anything interesting lately?

Underworld

Posted on September 21, 2003 by under Movies.

Underworld was ten times better than I ever imagined it would be.  The movie thoroughly exceeded my expectations but I totally dug it.  Brian has always been the one fixated on vampire films.  We both thought the movie would be great because, simply put, it was like Blade but with Matrix flair.  We were wrong.  It was so much more than that.  I enjoyed it immensely and I didn’t get bogged down with the usual loopholes that I find in most films.  There were none.  They did a great job with the story line.  It was a Romeo and Juliet story that touched on the racial stuggles that may not be as prevalent today but still exist in certain cultures.  The message I came away with was, by uniting together we can be better, stronger people.  Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a preachy movie.  Neither did it try to force the moral down your throat.  Brian didn’t even notice the profundity of the movie until it was brought to his attention.  It’s action from beginning to end.  The effects were great.  On the surface, it is an awesome film.  Digging deeper only makes it better.  I have nothing bad to say about this movie.  If we were able to pre-order our DVD copy now, I would.  Yes, it’s that good.

If Underworld isn’t enough to get your lazy ass out of your easy chair, then how about bonus time at Clinique?  They’re offering a fabulous free gift offer just for making a purchase of $19.50 or more.  That’s one of the best deals I’ve seen of late.  So go to your nearest Clinique counter before supplies are depleted!

While you’re out, stop by On the Border and pick up a Kahlua ice cream pie and some of their yummy empanadas.  That’s what we had for dinner tonight.  Carry out — it’s a good thing!
