Fight Night at Jen and Armando’s

Brian opted to skip the tapas class at Taste & See because he didn’t want to be late for fight night. Although the main event didn’t actually start until about 10:30 pm and I’m pretty sure the tapas class would have finished in plenty of time, going to Jen & Armando’s early proved to be a good choice. Armando gave him a Pilipinas jacket that was perfect for the occasion.

Brian was super thrilled. Thank you, Jen and Armando!

It was not one of Manny’s best performances, but Marquez is a tough competitor. He’s the only one I’ve known to give Manny trouble. All of Manny’s previous opponents have been no match for him. This made for a really great, exciting fight. Either boxer could have taken the match at any time. In fact, many people, including Marquez’ team, felt that he should have won. He certainly fought well. Manny threw and landed more punches, though. Two of the judges gave him the match, while the third judge called it a draw. It wasn’t the decisive victory that either camp was looking for so I’m pretty sure these guys will meet again in a couple of years for part IV of this ongoing boxing rivalry/saga.

Thank you again to Armando and Jen for hosting the event and having us over. We had a great time! Maybe we can return the favor for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, if it ever happens. Hopefully, we’ll be in a house by then. 😉

The LBD Fits

Brian organized a little dinner at Carrabba’s in honor of my birthday. We decided not to have a big party this year like the one we had last year because we’re trying to be more fiscally responsible, specially since I have some medical bills.

Anyway, I had to dust off one of my LBDs to wear to dinner. I think it’s the only one I have left. LOL. (Although, I think Darcy said she had a couple of my old LBDs that she can send back my way. I was really excited when she told me that the other day. I love, love, love getting my old clothes back!)

We had a good time at dinner. Thanks to everyone who came out. We’ll have a big party again next year. Stay tuned!

Kevin and Kasey’s Wedding

I missed Kevin and Kasey’s wedding because we got stuck in Atlanta overnight. Instead of arriving in Wichita by 10:00 pm on Friday night, I didn’t end up getting home until after 1:00 pm the next day. Brian had to be at the church in Derby by 1:30 pm, but had to drop me off at home. He actually ended up getting there late. They were able to work around him for the pre-wedding photos, though. Even though I missed the wedding and cake reception, I was able to attend the party at the KMMH that evening. Not a lot of people came, but we still managed to have a great time. I met Robby and his fiancee Elizabeth for the first time.

Kevin was quite jolly with his bottle of Kraken.

I can’t wait to see the official wedding photos!

Beautiful Sunday

We had a wonderful dinner at mom and dad’s on Sunday. Mom made tons of Filipino food, which I love, love love! I ate so much that night that when I weighed in at the doctor’s office at 123 lbs this afternoon, I wasn’t surprised. Whenever there’s Filipino food around, I can’t help but go for seconds and thirds.

I can’t wait to hit the gym tomorrow for Zoe’s group power class and Gina Ann’s Zumba fitness class so I can get this weightloss trainwreck back on track.

But I digress, mom turns another year on Thursday so be sure to greet her happy birthday! I would tell you how old she is, but you won’t believe me. Mom looks fantastic! I hope that I age as gracefully as she does when I’m older.
