More Polka Dots

I’m obsessed with dots!
I love these new shoes!
I just want to wear them everywhere because they are so awesome. If you want to get yourself a pair, you can either go to the Nike web site or click here. If you get them from the Amazon web site, I get a commission. 😉

My New Flip Flops
Posted on September 15, 2013 by Ching under Shopping.
When I was at Beau Monde getting my waxing yesterday, I noticed that they had lots of products (mostly summer items) marked down to 40%, 50% and even 75%. As luck would have it, I found flip flops, that matched my Sorbet Spots smart phone wallet, for just $5. I couldn’t pass it up. LOL.
The flip flops also match the small duffel and cross body bag that I got earlier to take with me to 2013 Zumba Instructor Convention in Orlando. I didn’t even get to use either of them so they’re still unused and in storage.
Once I started packing, I realized that the duffel bag was too small because I had to pack a costume, etc. If I was just packing for three or four days of working out, that wouldn’t have been a problem. However, I was packing for workouts and parties. There were several people at the ZIN Soiree with really elaborate costumes and props. I can’t imagine what their bags must have looked like.
The cross body bag idea got nixed when I found out that we were getting these nice Zumba backpacks at convention because I wouldn’t need my cross body bag then. So the only piece of the whole Sorbet Spots collection that I’ve been using is the wallet and I’m not even going to be using it much longer. Since summer is technically over, it’s about to be retired.
Perhaps next summer I’ll get more use out of these really colorful bags. I doubt that I’ll be wearing all of them together simultaneously though because that would just be overkill; not to mention look ridiculous. LOL. As for the flip flops, I know that summer is over but I had to get them. They were only $5. Besides, Brian and I have been traveling a lot lately. I can bring them with me when I travel so I don’t have to walk barefoot on hotel carpets and they will bring me happiness and sunshine wherever I go. I just know it!

Filipino Ingenuity at Its Finest
Posted on September 10, 2013 by Ching under Life, Shopping.
When my favorite work pumps broke one morning at work, I had no choice but to rubber band my shoe to my foot just to get through the day.
My shoe strap breaking doesn’t mean I could go home for the day. I still had to finish my work. LOL. I wasn’t going to let something as minor as a broken shoe strap ruin my day, though. Just like how I wasn’t going to let a little wardrobe malfunction keep me from attending the ZIN Soiree at the 2013 Zumba Instructor Convention in Orlando. Plus, when you make lemonade out of lemons the universe will lend you a hand. Brian says I can go shoe shopping on Saturday! Woot!

Friday Errands then Dinner at Sake
Posted on June 9, 2013 by Ching under Food and Drink, Health, Shopping.
Brian and I had to return my folding bistro table to JC Penney on Friday after work. I thought it would be perfect for the Bradley Fair jazz concerts, but it was just so poorly constructed that we didn’t even want to risk it. The package arrived on Thursday and we took it back to the store the very next day. This is what I get for impulse shopping online in the middle of the night. LOL.
For now we shall stick with our table in a bag, which actually worked great the other day. It’s just the right height for our backpack chairs
.
Since we were already out and about, Brian and I decided to have dinner at Sake. The picture above is of my hibachi shrimp. That’s what I normally get whenever I go to these types of restaurants. Brian usually gets the chicken, which is what he had this time.
We lucked out and got Silo for our chef. We first met him when he worked at Sumo back when the restaurant was located on North Rock Road, in front of Northrock Lanes. That was like fifteen years ago. We don’t see him much anymore as we rarely go to hibachi restaurants these days. I just happened to have a Groupon this time around and we were already out so we went. I’m back to what I weighed when we first joined Genesis a couple of years ago so it’s time to buckle down again. No more eating out for a while. We’ll try not to anyway, except on special occasions.

Nebraska Furniture Mart
Posted on September 2, 2012 by Ching under Shopping.
We finally got to check out Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Holy cow! That store is huge! We could have wandered around the store for days! Every time a store salesperson greet us, Brian’s favorite line was, “What are you talking about? I’ve been here for a week.” It wasn’t as funny after the second or third time he said it. Just like well-trained sales reps, they all laughed like it was the first time they’d ever heard anyone say it. Although, I’m sure they get that a lot.
Mainly we just wanted to see if it would have been cheaper to purchase our appliances from there because everyone has been telling us to go to NFM rather than shopping locally. We found our Whirlpool fridge for about $100 less, but with delivery it would have been the same. So Brian and I felt pretty good about that purchase. We couldn’t find our washer and dryer at NFM but, if you’re familiar with that story, then you know we got a really good deal on it.
Brian and I liked the upholstery fabric of this couch, but not so much the style. Will probably go with NFM when we furnish our basement a few years from now.
Brian had a lot of fun playing with this recliner, but we are not getting it. Not next week. Not next month. Not next year. Not five years from now. Not ever. Sorry, baby. Just calling it like it is. =P
