Pictures of Brian in the Passat
Posted on April 10, 2011 by Ching under Toys, Wishlist.
I know I mentioned before that I wanted my next car to be a convertible, but the Passat has turned into a viable contender. Why? Well… Look at it. Doesn’t Brian look sexy driving it? I think that is reason enough. LOL.
Here’s what the dash looks like in the daylight…

DVD Navigation with Bluetooth
Posted on April 10, 2011 by Ching under Toys, Wishlist.
Brian got to drive one of their company cars to pick up some of his German colleagues from the airport today. It was a 2010 VW Passat. It was pretty nice actually. Almost made me want to own one. Except, I really like not having a car payment.
ME: My next car will have one of these. (I said this while pointing at the in-dash DVD navigation system which, incidentally, is capable of streaming your Pandora from your phone through Bluetooth.)
BRIAN: Your next car will have giddyup.
ME: What’s that?
BRIAN: It’s when you step on the accelerator and your car goes zoom!
LOL. Bebot is kind of sluggish. No offense, Bebot. (He’s actually pretty quick for a 4-cylinder. But that’s what happens when you are after good gas mileage.) I’m so frugal that I have a feeling we’ll have Bebot with us for several years to come. Probably until the wheels fall off. One can dream, though.

My New Favorite Boots
Posted on January 22, 2011 by Ching under Travel, Wishlist.
Last year my Steve Madden cowboy boots were my favorite. This year, my Frye Harness 12Rs have taken their place. 🙂
These were perfect!
I wore them almost every single day on our trip.
P.S. I didn’t pay that much for mine.

Ching’s New Shoes
Posted on January 10, 2011 by Ching under Wishlist.
I got some Christmas money from my biological father (Fredo) so I went on a bit of a shopping spree over the weekend. My first stop was a manicure and pedicure at Mani | Pedi (on 37th Street; next to Orange Leaf) with April.
I felt a little bad because I hadn’t shaved my legs in over a week. LOL. That’s what happens when you’re married, though. Unless you are married to Cory. I guess he is really picky about that stuff. I told April that if you let your leg hairs grow out long enough then they’re not prickly anymore. They just feel a little fuzzy. =P
I felt worse when Angel took over. He was probably thinking, “Man this chick has hairy legs!” He was a good sport and didn’t say anything, though. Of course, he might have been making fun of my hairy legs in Vietnamese, and I just couldn’t understand it.
Fredo gave me enough cash for the nail spa, some frozen yogurt from Orange Leaf (next door), a red wool peacoat (to replace my red Abercrombie one that I’ve outgrown; I got this new one at Sam’s Club and it was a fraction of the cost), a black rain trench (to replace the Guess one that I’d gotten from Wilsons Leather a couple of years ago that has been continually losing buttons), a couple of pairs of Injinji socks, and a pair of Vibram FiveFingers.
Brian had gotten a pair last month, but they are a little pricey so I didn’t get any. He’d been wanting a pair since the beginning of the year so he deserved them.
Rather than lose my money at the tables in Vegas, I figured that I would buy myself a pair. I’ve always been pretty pragmatic. The FiveFingers were the only thing relatively expensive out of all the things I bought. Everything else was pretty cheap. In fact, I think I still have some cash left over. I’m thinking I may use it for some more Orange Leaf. Brian’s never tried it. 🙂
I tried to break in my new FiveFingers, which I’d gotten on Saturday, yesterday while we were at Sam’s picking up some essentials. Except it started snowing and the ground was covered in snow by the time we got out of the store. It wasn’t my most brilliant idea. Brian and I got a kick out of our footprints, though. Our footprints looked like someone had walked in the snow barefoot.
I was going to try them at Zumba today, but I didn’t make it because of work and weather. I’m debating on whether to go to Zumba tomorrow. I think I should because I really need to take the shoes out for a test run. Have any of you guys worn FiveFingers? How do you like them?
