Ching’s New Shoes

I got some Christmas money from my biological father (Fredo) so I went on a bit of a shopping spree over the weekend. My first stop was a manicure and pedicure at Mani | Pedi (on 37th Street; next to Orange Leaf) with April.

I felt a little bad because I hadn’t shaved my legs in over a week. LOL. That’s what happens when you’re married, though. Unless you are married to Cory. I guess he is really picky about that stuff. I told April that if you let your leg hairs grow out long enough then they’re not prickly anymore. They just feel a little fuzzy. =P

I felt worse when Angel took over. He was probably thinking, “Man this chick has hairy legs!” He was a good sport and didn’t say anything, though. Of course, he might have been making fun of my hairy legs in Vietnamese, and I just couldn’t understand it.

Fredo gave me enough cash for the nail spa, some frozen yogurt from Orange Leaf (next door), a red wool peacoat (to replace my red Abercrombie one that I’ve outgrown; I got this new one at Sam’s Club and it was a fraction of the cost), a black rain trench (to replace the Guess one that I’d gotten from Wilsons Leather a couple of years ago that has been continually losing buttons), a couple of pairs of Injinji socks, and a pair of Vibram FiveFingers.

Brian had gotten a pair last month, but they are a little pricey so I didn’t get any. He’d been wanting a pair since the beginning of the year so he deserved them.

Rather than lose my money at the tables in Vegas, I figured that I would buy myself a pair. I’ve always been pretty pragmatic. The FiveFingers were the only thing relatively expensive out of all the things I bought. Everything else was pretty cheap. In fact, I think I still have some cash left over. I’m thinking I may use it for some more Orange Leaf. Brian’s never tried it. 🙂

I tried to break in my new FiveFingers, which I’d gotten on Saturday, yesterday while we were at Sam’s picking up some essentials. Except it started snowing and the ground was covered in snow by the time we got out of the store. It wasn’t my most brilliant idea. Brian and I got a kick out of our footprints, though. Our footprints looked like someone had walked in the snow barefoot.

I was going to try them at Zumba today, but I didn’t make it because of work and weather. I’m debating on whether to go to Zumba tomorrow. I think I should because I really need to take the shoes out for a test run. Have any of you guys worn FiveFingers? How do you like them?

Sabra from class has a pair that she’s worn to class before! I want to say she loved them, but they didn’t have enough support for some of the high impact stuff we do…but don’t quote me on that.

I have these ones (Nike Musique IV) that I bought specifically for Zumba, but I don’t wear them all the time exactly for that reason. Not enough support. I think that I will run into the same thing with the FiveFingers. I’m thinking of only using it for low impact stuff. I prefer to wear my EasyTones if I do a lot of jumping around. Although, those are getting pretty worn out too. 🙁

….Where can I purchase a citrus tree?..Please visit http://www.acornspringsfarms.com for more information on purchasing citrus trees or seeds that can be shipped directly to your home. If that term is new to you this is a smaller second leaf between the large terminal leaf and the stem or limb to which it is attached. In a yard it can mean that the trunk has been injured by a yard implement and a fungus has begun to infect the bark.
