30 on the 30th
Posted on October 10, 2007 by Ching under Life, Wishlist.
Guess who’s turning 30 on the 30th! Yes, sir. It’s the big one. Twenty days and counting! Here’s what I’m drooling over these days..
Gift cards are welcome, too! =P Jen asked me what I wanted, so I told her to just get me a Franklin Covey gift card. He he. Gift cards for J.Crew, Talbots, Ann Taylor, Gap, and Eddie Bauer will work too because I need to get some new work clothes.

The Greatest Idea!
Posted on August 14, 2007 by Ching under Family, Food and Drink, Life, Sponsored Post, Wishlist.
I was looking through the internet today for ideas to use on my upcoming remodel. I came a cross a site that specializes in Stainless Steel Cabinets and workbenches as well as flooring and other garage products. I thought to myself that would be a really cool kitchen. Imagine it, you have all the latest stainless appliances with these high grade stainless cabinets and butcher block counter tops, or even stainless counter tops. I think you could even do a really nice beige marble with a nice white oak trim that would make the stainless pop. Now imagine the floor being either a white oak wood laminate floor or you could use the rubber flooring that the company sells. you would be able to drop anything on the floor and it would clean right up. and if you damage a rubber square then you simply remove it and replace it. Its brilliant. I will have to run this by my wife and see if she likes the idea!

A Dream of Better Art.
Posted on June 8, 2007 by Brian under News, Toys, Wishlist.
For the longest time I have dreamed of owning a Cintiq 21UX, its got to be one of the coolest Digital Tablets on the market to date. It boast an interactive pen display that combines the advantages of an LCD monitor with the control, comfort, and productivity of Wacom’s most sophisticated patented cordless, battery-free tablet technology. By using a pen directly on the screen, I can work much more quickly and naturally.
The Cintiq 21UX has an 21.3″ high-resolution display and a dynamically adjustable stand that allows the display to be rotated, inclined, and even quickly removed for in-lap use. To further enhance your comfort, the Cintiq 21UX comes with a cushioned Grip Pen for use directly on the screen allowing you to create in the most natural way possible.
If you know who I am then you know that i am an artist at heart and will draw anything that i feel if I have the time to sit and do it. I think with this I would probably do more and would eventually improve on what i consider to be a really good resume. However, with a jaw dropping price of $2400 big ones, it puts it a little out of my scope of purchase. At this point in time I just have too much else that needs attention. It makes me sad but I know that if i am patient then good will come of it. Just think, in the next 2 years technology could improve to the point that all new computers will have this feature and will automatically come this way. If thats the case then i will be glad that i waited so that i could just upgrade to something new all around and then start my art again from that point.
For know I am content with drawing my art the old school way and scanning it into the computer. I will eventually get caught up technologically and then i will surprise the world with my flavor of art and style. Till then, you will just have to find me, befriend me and ask to see my many portfolios.

Movies to Remake
Posted on November 8, 2006 by Brian under Life, Movies, Wishlist.
In this day and age it’s obvious that imagination has lost its spark. The muse that once was all around us has gone and we are left with remakes of films that at there conception, were considered to be fabulous! Here is a list of the top ten movies that I would love to see remade in my life time;
10. Planet of the Apes Saga.
I know that they have already made one of the films but I think in the next few years they should remake the rest of them. The original was considered to be a great film with great effects and makeup that was outstanding for its time. It gave us a glimpse of what the world would be like if evolution took a twisted turn.
9. Death Race 2000.
This was, even for its time, a rather cheesy film. It focused around a deadly car race that was considered to be the greatest sport in National History. It was a game that involved racing across specific zones, the more pedestrians you hit the more points you rack up. David Carradine was the bad guy with a grenade for a hand. But this could easily be redone with modern graphics and a perked up story line. Think “Fast and the Furious†meets “Commandoâ€.
8. 2001 / 2010.
Now everyone is probably ready to jump through there computers and strangle me. But give me a chance. I do not want to change a thing on these films. They were what I considered to be Iconic films of there time and they were even better books. I just think that if we are going to move into an age of remakes, let’s remake something that was considered to be outstanding even it is day. Just imagine the imagery that we can create from redoing these movies with today’s computer graphics and make-up artist. (more…)

Ching Wants a New Camera
Posted on October 21, 2006 by Ching under Life, Toys, Wishlist.

Here’s what I really want for Christmas. I probably won’t get it, though. We have much more practical needs. A new camera really isn’t on top of our list.
Besides I still have my two cameras (the Powershot G3 that I paid $700 for back in the day and then Powershot SD10 that cost me $400 six months after I bought the G3) and my handy, dandy camera phone.
The funny thing is, four years ago I probably wouldn’t even flinch at ordering this stupid camera. It was just a matter of a mouse click. It’s amazing how so much more responsible I am now about spending. No more extravagant, frivolous, flamboyant expeditures. Gone are those days. And good riddance! The financial freedom I feel now (of not having credit card bills looming over my head) was totally worth the sacrifice.
As for my birthday… In keeping with our more pragmatic, minimalist new lifestyle, Brian is getting my car windows tinted on Monday. No fancy jewelry, no new camera, no shopping spree. We opted to go the practical route. I am going to get so much more out of tinted windows than I ever would any kind of birthday trinket. Anyway, Bebot deserves it.
