DVD Navigation with Bluetooth
Posted on April 10, 2011 by Ching under Toys, Wishlist.
Brian got to drive one of their company cars to pick up some of his German colleagues from the airport today. It was a 2010 VW Passat. It was pretty nice actually. Almost made me want to own one. Except, I really like not having a car payment.
ME: My next car will have one of these. (I said this while pointing at the in-dash DVD navigation system which, incidentally, is capable of streaming your Pandora from your phone through Bluetooth.)
BRIAN: Your next car will have giddyup.
ME: What’s that?
BRIAN: It’s when you step on the accelerator and your car goes zoom!
LOL. Bebot is kind of sluggish. No offense, Bebot. (He’s actually pretty quick for a 4-cylinder. But that’s what happens when you are after good gas mileage.) I’m so frugal that I have a feeling we’ll have Bebot with us for several years to come. Probably until the wheels fall off. One can dream, though.

Doug’s Hemi Cuda

Brian got to check out Doug’s new car (bought a couple of months ago or so) yesterday while we were at The Alley. I didn’t get to check it out because I was bowling. 🙁
At least he took a photo.

Unboxing Ching’s New Computer
Posted on October 10, 2010 by Ching under Toys.
Brian got to do the honors.
We can be so impulsive sometimes. So my laptop crashed and we couldn’t get it to work and we figured it was toast. What did we do? We ordered a replacement from Dell, naturally.
This reminds me of when we decided to buy a Bowflex out of nowhere several years ago. That was one heck of an impulse buy. We ended up making payments on that thing for years, long after the novelty wore off and we quit using it, which wasn’t really very long to be honest. I think we were paying for that thing ten times longer than we actually used it. When we moved out of our old house, we just ended up giving it to mom and dad because we no longer had room for it.
Anyway, we bought a new laptop only to find that my old laptop is fine. It just needed a little breather. Jay and Becca came over one night to pick up a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon, drank some wine, and ended up staying for a couple of hours. Jay took a look at my laptop and was able to revive it within a few minutes. He’s brilliant like that.
I’m still on my old laptop, though, because I haven’t had time to move all of my stuff over to the new laptop. Jay is buying this old laptop from us when we are both ready. I’ll probably leave the software that’s already installed like Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office, etc. but I’ll need to clean out information about my Swiss bank accounts, all of my hidden albums and other naughty stuff. LOL.

Our New Cellphones Arrived on Friday
Posted on August 26, 2010 by Ching under Toys, Wishlist.
I won’t blog about the whole cellphone saga because it’s a long story and Brian told me that he would blog about it. After all, he is the one who worked super hard to get us our new Samsung Galaxy S/Vibrant phones. T-Mobile wouldn’t give them to us for less than $150 each at first. Even after multiple phone calls and multiple cancellation threats, they wouldn’t do it. We almost switched to Verizon to get HTC Incredibles. Luckily, they ran a special where everyone could get it for $99 so we were able to get in on that deal.
I’m glad we stayed with T-Mobile because our rate plan is unbeatable. We got to keep our grandfathered calling and messaging plans, and simply added unlimited data for $20 per month on each line. Also, I really, really like the Vibrant because I can control our TV with it. I can show pictures and videos stored in my phone on the TV wirelessly through the AllShare app. It is soo neat!
Check out what the phone can do below…
P.S. If you can’t see the video, you need to get out of Facebook for a second and visit my actual blog.
