ICT2DC Inauguration Road Trip

Posted on January 17, 2009 by under News, Travel.

I’m living this whole trip vicariously through Twitter and the ICT2DC web site. I like the lifestream plugin for quick updates about what the group is up to (tweets and Flickr image uploads). However, the real-time GPS tracking is my favorite feature. I could watch that page all day.

Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal

Posted on January 1, 2009 by under Movies, News.

Brian was nice and let me watch Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal, it’s a Lifetime made-for-TV movie. It originally aired back in August but they had just re-run it yesterday so it was available on demand. Brian found it for me so I could watch it. My initial reaction was shock. “Does this stuff really happen in real life?” I wondered and then quickly realized that this movie is based on a true story. This stuff actually happened over a year ago. Watch the clip below for more info.

2008 Walk for Unity

Posted on October 3, 2008 by under News.

Diversity Kansas is about people working together to build inclusive communities that are respectful of all races, religions and cultures. The future of Kansas depends upon how we work together, how we see each other and how we lift each other up.

Their mission is to assist in building inclusive communities, businesses and institutions through diversity training, advocacy, conflict resolution, interfaith collaboration, youth leadership training and community dialogue.

I am participating in the 2008 Walk for Unity fundraising event for Diversity Kansas on October 12, Sunday, at Central Riverside Park. This event generates funding for youth and community development initiatives, awareness and understanding of different cultures, and helps to build a more inclusive community. Please show your support for this wonderful cause by sponsoring me!
