Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Widescreen Edition)

Brian and I just finished watching The Chronicles of Narnia.  It’s a great adventure movie!  I had to keep from crying a couple of times.  Anyway, if you haven’t seen it yet you really should.

Speaking of chronicles, testimonials from friends are a great way to chronicle life experiences.  Sometimes I look back at the 28 years that I’ve lived this life and I am amazed at all the transformations I’ve undergone.

You all know I’ve participated in the online social networking thing since before it was cool.  I think Friendster started it all, and I’ve been on their site since early 2003.  I’ve pretty much neglected my Friendster page until recently when I’ve decided to rejuvenate it by adding pictures of our babies and trying to reconnect with old schoolmates.

Anyway, I thought I would share some of my old testimonials with you all so you’ll gain a better insight to my personality and how I’ve evolved over the years.

I’ve known Ching since 1st grade and she hasn’t changed much… height wise! hahaha… Though we haven’t seen each other for sooooo long we still keep in touch and all I can say is that she’s still the same person that she was back then… bubbly, energetic, thoughtful and gorgeous! =) [from Lea]

Aeon Flux Movie

Posted on May 6, 2006 by under Movies.

Aeon Flux (Widescreen Special Collector\'s Edition)

This is a conversation Brian and I had right before watching the movie Aeon Flux in the bedroom.

“I heard this movie was really bad,” I told Brian.

“The story is supposed to suck,” he said.

“Why? Because they deviated from the cartoon?”

“Pretty much. The only thing they kept were the characters. They created their own story. They would’ve been better off putting her in the original costume.”

“You’re such a perv,” I told him. “That wouldn’t have helped the story any.”

“No, but more people would’ve watched it.”

It wasn’t as bad as I thought. Brian fell asleep halfway through it, but I managed to stay awake and finish the movie. That was kind of odd because usually I’m the one who zonks out. I think it has to do having received full body massage earlier today. I had a waxing (face and bikini) and facial appointment so I got it him a massage appointment at the same time so he wouldn’t get bored while waiting for me.

Wasn’t that just thoughtful of me?

A Love Song for Bobby Long

Posted on April 14, 2006 by under Movies.

Some people reach a place in time where they’ve gone as far as they can. A place where wives and jobs collide with desire. That which is unknowable and those who remain out of sight. See what it is invisible and you will see what to write. That’s how Bobby used to put it. It was the invisible people he wanted to live with. The ones that we walk past everday, the ones we sometimes become. The ones in books who live only in someones mind’s eye. He was a man who was destined to go through life and not around it. A man who was sure the shortest path to Heaven was straight through Hell. But the truth of his handicap lay only in a mind both exalted and crippled by too many stories and the path he chose to become one. Bobby Long’s tragic flaw was his romance with all that he saw. And I guess if people want to believe in some form of justice, then Bobby Long got his for a song.

Since I stayed home today I got a chance to watch A Love Song for Bobby Long today. It came highly recommended by my coworker,  Scott. I watched the movie, pausing only to take calls from Brian and the vet.

Brian warned me not to watch it. He said that it’s depressing. I don’t know how he knows.  He has never seen the movie and refuses to watch it.  The story begins a little  depressing but it does have a happy ending. It’s a great movie. You all should watch it.  For a moment it made me forget about Molly’s plight.

Some people take drugs.  I just watch movies.

Must Love Dogs

Posted on January 29, 2006 by under Movies.

Just got done watching Must Love Dogs. It’s a really cute movie. You all should see it. About the only thing that I didn’t like was when she jumped into the water. I thought it was kind of cheesy and farfetched but Brian said it wouldn’t have been as dramatic otherwise. Anyway, the movie still made me cry. I’m pathetic, I know. Just watch the movie. It’s cute.

Underworld: Evolution

Posted on January 21, 2006 by under Movies.

We watched Underworld: Evolution today. It is our first movie of 2006. You might be surprised considering that Brian and I are know to be huge movie buffs but, honestly, my busy schedule has rendered it impossible for us to go to the movies as frequently as we used to. It was actually a relief that we were able to squeeze this movie in. Of course, we had to. I couldn’t miss the sequel to one of my favorite movies of all time. Kate Beckinsdale actually makes a great action star. I’ve wanted to be Selene since seeing the first previews of Underworld several years go. Anyway, part 2 is pretty good so be sure to watch it. If you are busy like me and don’t have time to go to the movies, you can always just put it on your Netflix list.
