Waxman Candles

Waxman Candles was definitely a trip highlight. The store, which has been around for over 40 years, is a Mass Street landmark.
There were so many varieties of candles to choose from, it was like I’d died and gone to candle heaven. I bet April would really love this place!
It’s a wonder that we didn’t spend any more than we did.
The folks at Waxman are so nice. They let us see the back room and the back back room. We got to watch them make some candles.
I even got to meet the Waxman himself.
It was pretty cool! Actually, the entire downtown Lawrence is pretty cool. There are so many restaurants and shops Mass Street that it really takes more than just a day to take it all in. Brian and I are already planning our next trip. =)

The problem with downtown Lawrence is that it’s being taken over by the developers who worked for years to ruin it by building a “corn field” mall. It used to be a legitimate shopping district at one time.
