Our Dinner at Carrabba’s
Posted on July 7, 2023 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Lots of food pics incoming…
What can I say? We like cheese.
And we love the Sogno di Chocolat dessert.
Other desserts that night…
We don’t eat at Carrabba’s as frequently as we used to but it still a good spot for a nice dinner. I specially like their sangrias. More information about Carrabba’s here.

New Drinks at the Belmont
Posted on July 5, 2023 by Ching under Food and Drink.
We went to the Belmont when Dave and Donna were in town last month. Brian and I hadn’t been there in a while and I had almost forgotten how much I love their food and drinks. Here are some pictures of the food we had…
While there, I noticed some new drinks on their cocktail menu. I naturally had to try them. It took several visits to try all the new drinks but I managed to get it done before the month was up.
I had to order two drinks per visit to get it done, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
On this visit, I had the San Junipero (green drink) and the Moonlight (purple drink). It made sense to order these two together because they were both gin based. I am always very careful about mixing my spirits.
Both drinks were refreshing and delicious in their own way. They were the perfect warm weather drinks.
Brian never deviates from his usual – Rackhouse. It is a bourbon based drink and his absolute favorite there.
On a separate visit, I had the Velvet Hammer and Brian got Rackhouse (obviously).
I also got a Nectar of the Plains.
Here is a picture of the Julius City Sour from a separate visit.
And finally – Dance, Magic Dance.
Here’s a picture of the Calumet from one of our first visits to the Belmont. I didn’t order it this tour because I’ve drank it so many times. It was and has always been my favorite drink to get there. Apparently, it’s also a favorite for many because it’s the one drink that they’ve never take off their cocktail menu.
Here are a few more pictures of food from our visits to the Belmont last month.
Don’t get too excited. Brian didn’t order anything new. This is still the ham and cheese but they ran out of the pretzel roll that day so they served it to him in a sourdough toast.
Some food pics from when I went with Lesa Lozano and Chris Townley, the week that Lesa was in Wichita.
This is how the ham and cheese is usually served.
Anyway, I just love the food and drinks at the Belmont. It’s one of our “go to” places for happy hour and whenever we don’t feel like making anything.
Until next time, GNG.

Our Dinner at Piatto
Posted on July 5, 2023 by Ching under Food and Drink.
I don’t know why he always looks so serious when perusing the menu. We always get the same thing. Lately we have, anyways.
Yummy cheesy garlic bread pizza.
Trio de carne – our favorite there.
The pizzas are big enough for two people to share so, anytime we get two, we always end up with leftovers.
Afterwards, we walked over to Hopping Gnome for some brews. The weather was perfect that day so we got to play a little bit of cornhole, which I won naturally. It was a close game, though. Until next time, GNG.

New Hopping Gnome Taproom
Posted on July 4, 2023 by Ching under Life.
Brian and I finally got to check out the new Hopping Gnome taproom.
It’s not too far from the original off Douglas. In fact, we had dinner at Piatto right before and then walked out the back door and over to the new Hopping Gnome. The new place is great. It is much bigger both inside and outside.
I guess they didn’t really have an outdoor space before. Now they even have room cornhole and for the plant bus. I’m not sure how often it’s there but it was parked outside the day we went.
Until next time, GNG.

iPN Nation Builders are Finally Here
Posted on July 3, 2023 by Ching under Community, Pickleball.
I’ve been working to bring the iPickle Nation Nation Builders to Wichita since the beginning of the year and they’re finally here. We had the first one on June 11 and participation has steadily increased ever since. The format is super fun and guarantees a lot of games — six in the round robin pool play and additional games in the single elimination bracket. There winners and medals so it’s like playing in a mini tournament every weekend. The end of the series the top male and female players for each division get a free tournament entry into one of the super fun pickleball tournaments that iPickle Nation runs throughout the year.
June 11 Winners:
June 18 Winners:
June 25 Winners:
We have a break this weekend because of the upcoming 4th of July holiday. The next session is on July 9. It’s actually already full but the other six future sessions are still open for registration. You can sign up here. For sessions that are full, you can sign up for the waiting list here. You have to come out and play in one of these sessions. They are so fun. Hope to see you at the next one!
The revolution is here. It’s time to join the Nation!
