Joeys Update

Posted on June 4, 2006 by under Babies, Family.

We’ve only got one more joey left available for adoption. Three already have homes to go to. As you know, two are going to Gina and Sue. This morning, I just received confirmation from Dawn that her girls want one. So that leaves only one without a confirmed home.

The joeys won’t be ready to go for at least another two months, but I’m glad that we are able to find homes for them early. I think it gives Brian a sense of relief because he was really worried that I would end up keeping all the babies, which I would’ve done if we wouldn’t have found homes for them. I was ready to buy another cage and everything.

Anyway, we went to mom and dad’s today to bring some more stuff for the garage sale this weekend. We spent over two hours pricing stuff, mostly Brian’s action figures because he has a gazillion. Jen helped but she actually got something out of it. She got a first look at the some of the items and walked away with a pair of Bebe flipflops and four little, metal X-MEN action figures (Bishop, Gambit, Wolverine and Omega Red) for a buck.

We didn’t walk away empty handled either. We took home an artificial tree (for the sugargliders to climb on) and an external zip drive with over a dozen blank zip storage media for Brian. We had actually been thinking of buying a tree for the suggies, but were waiting to find one for the right price. Now we don’t have to because we got one for free.

I actually got on dad for wanting to toss the zip drive because I wanted one last year and I had no idea he had one that was on its way to the dumpster. I have a zip drive now because Brian’s dad just happened to have one that he no longer needed. Now Brian has one, too. So if he needs to retrieve some of his old stuff, I no longer have to get it for him because we now each have our own zip drives.

After the whole pricing activity, we feasted on pork chops and mungo. Yum! Mom had to fry pork chops for Brian because he doesn’t eat mungo. It is so good. He has no idea what he is missing.
