By the way, did you know that we got conned into parting with $30 for a dedicated cable internet line?  Yes, sirree!  Why is it that when you can’t connect to the internet because of crappy service somehow your ISP finds a way to convince you that this is YOUR fault and that they can make it better FOR A FEE?  What is $30 anyway when you can enjoy many months of uninterrupted service, right?  Supposedly the dedicated line will give us a better connection.  I wondered if that was BETTER as in FASTER because, you know what, I can’t tell the difference.  If it’s not, then how can it be better?  Isn’t faster better?  How else would you define it?  Maybe I’m just impatient.

I shouldn’t gripe about it too much because I agreed to it.  It was another one of those heat-of-the-moment decisions that you wish you could take back (kind of like spending $2,000 on the Bowflex).  It went like this,  “God!  I hate these outages!  I hate our internet connection!  Sure, have them install the dedicated line!  Dammit!”  Voila!  Just like that, the cable company has usurped money out of another unsuspecting broke-ass sucker.

Speaking of which, Brian promised me he would seal the hole that they made through the wall before it starts raining again.  I have to make a mental note to remind him because if I don’t it’ll be next year before it gets done.  He promised me that he would call the cable company today and cancel our digital cable (we’re switching to regular cable because we’re paying $130 per month right now for our cable and internet combined and we’re hardly ever home to enjoy it; when I am home, I’m on the freakin’ internet) also and he hasn’t done that yet either.  I never understood why he wanted all those dang channels anyway (we have all of the digital tiers the cable company offers except for the the Spanish tier; if it were up to Brian we’d have that too and to think that I can comprehend Spanish better than he does)!  I think he is having second thoughts about canceling the digital cable.  He’s probably hoping that I will forget and then he won’t have to do it.  I can sense his reluctance to give it up.  I’m giving him until Monday and then I’m going to nag him about it.  LOL!  I’m really getting good at this “wife” thing!
