Ritchie’s 25th Birthday

Posted on March 11, 2003 by under Life.

Today is a super-duper great day — not just because it’s Ritchie’s 25th birthday either!  Although that is definitely a cause to celebrate!  Happy birthday, Ritchie!

When I arrived home today I was greeted by the wonderful sound of a working furnace.  It was music to my ears!  Nevermind that the hallway was in shambles and that there was enough sheetrock dust all over the place to fill a small tub, it was all worth it.  I’m so thankful for David coming over to help Brian install the new door on our utility closet (the old one had to be removed so that the service guys could have access, not necessarily replaced though, but there again — Brian hated that door so it had to be replaced — so what if it doesn’t match the door to the water heater a mere two inches away from it).  Call today’s blog an ode to my father-in-law Dave because without his help I don’t think that the the door would have gotten installed.

At any rate, Brian made me take a shower with him because he was feeling grody from working on the door and being covered in sheetrock dust.  It took some convincing on his part too because showering at night is really not my thing.  My routine is to shower in the morning when I wake up, which I will do again tomorrow, but I decided to give in and shower with Brian.  Oh, what a glorious feeling it is to be able to step out of the shower and not have to run to the bedroom where the space heater is!  I can walk around the house naked (or at least partially clothed) again, instead of having to wear layers of clothing to keep warm.  I could go on and on but you get the picture.

Allelujah!  It truly is a wonderful day!
