Pacquiao vs. Clottey

Posted on March 14, 2010 by under Life.

April, Cory, Becca, Jay, and Chad came over last night to watch the Pacquio vs. Clottey fight. We didn’t have our living room furniture yet (still being made, but should arrive by the end of the month — or so I’m told by the Slumberland sales rep who helped us) so a few of us had to sit on the floor.

We had enough people for our poker game but, without a poker table (mom has our octagonal one) and with barely any furniture, our new place isn’t conducive to playing poker. We played Apples to Apples (a game that we played for the first time at the Phelps’ a couple of weeks ago) instead. We had so much fun playing it at the Phelps’ (even with just four people) that Brian and I decided to get the game also while we were at Target last week, getting groceries and supplies for the new place.

Apples to Apples is so fun that it actually woke Becca up. She fell asleep (actually April did, too) during that boring fight. The fight had two strikes against it: it started so late (I think it was 10:30 pm before the Pacquiao vs. Clottey bout started) and it was not exciting at all (no knock downs or knock outs). I mean, what was up with Clottey? It was like he was fighting scared, hiding behind his defense the entire time. He barely threw any punches. I would have fallen asleep too, if my eyes weren’t glued to the screen.

Despite the boring fight, the guys still managed to be loud and boisterous. Hopefully, we weren’t so much so that we disturbed the peace and quiet of the apartment complex. That’s against the rules, you know? LOL.

To the Dills, Phelps, and Chad: Thank you guys for coming over and watching my idol beat the crap out of someone with me. You guys didn’t have to give us any money. We wanted to share. I saw bills on the counter when we were picking up after everyone left and was like, “What the heck?” Brian told me that he kept saying no, but you guys dropped money on the counter anyway. Thank you, but you guys really didn’t have to. I think deep down Brian was thinking, “Woo hoo! I have lunch money this week.” LOL. Hopefully next time it will be Pacquiao vs. Mayweather. That’ll be an exciting one for sure!
