Working Out at Home
Posted on July 21, 2013 by Ching under Health.
Working out topless is definitely one of the perks of having your personal trainer come to your house. Except, I think it’s making us lazier. If I’m not lazier, I’m definitely a lot whinier. I’m not only heavier than I was last year, I feel like I’ve taken ten steps back. I’m way out of shape that’s for sure.
Whenever we’re not doing a park or backyard workout with our trainer John Wilborn, we are usually working out in our basement. Brian and I got these 6 X 6 yoga mats from Amazon a few weeks ago because we figured we needed something to protect our carpets from excessive wear and the stench of our sweat. We also figured that we could use our new yoga mats for partner yoga for if we can ever make it out to one of the date night yoga events at Firefly. LOL.

Mom Felt Like Having a Margarita
Posted on July 21, 2013 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Mom felt like having a margarita the other day so I thought I’d help her out by offering to join her. No one should have to drink alone. LOL. Besides, I’d had a really tough, busy week at work and could use a drink myself.
We ended up at the Los Cocos in Derby which is really close to mom and dad’s house. Plus, they have $1.99 margaritas everyday. If you don’t really care about what kind of margarita you’re having and just want one, Los Cocos is the place to be. LOL.
I know it’s not premium but their frozen margaritas aren’t that bad actually. They have a variety of flavors but I always get the mango one. It’s pretty yummy.
Here are some pictures of our dinner.
Jenni wanted some guacamole for our chips.
Mom had some kind of chicken salad. Not something you’d think of ordering at a Mexican restaurant but to each her own, I guess.
I think this is Brian’s chicken quesadilla.
I was a bad girl and had carnitas. I didn’t eat all of it this time, though.
This is Jenni’s steak quesadilla. You can’t really tell it apart from the previous picture except that I recognize her top in this photo.
It’s not very often that mom extends a dinner invite but, when she does, it usually means it’s her treat. So you don’t ever want to turn down a dinner invite from mom. Thanks for buying us dinner, mom! It was delicious!

Lunch with Becca and Mama Dill
Posted on July 21, 2013 by Ching under Food and Drink.
I actually got to take a lunch last week so I decided to invite the Dills. Jay had a BNI meeting so he couldn’t go but Becca and Mama Dill were free.
I don’t mind eating lunch by myself but eating with friends is definitely much more fun. Specially if they’ve never been to the restaurant because then you will like you’re opening their world to something new and exciting.
The Anchor has been around for many years so it’s definitely not new. However, I’m always excited to go because the Anchor is one of my most favorite food establishments. I’ve never had anything there that I didn’t like.
Truffle fries and fried pickles are must haves when at the Anchor.
This is the chicken bacon avocado sandwich with peppered steak soup on the side.
I had the chicken bacon avocado the last time I was at the Anchor so I knew what it tasted like already. I got to try a little of the soup, though. It was yummy. I would totally eat it on a bed of white rice.
I had the three-piece chicken tenders and homemade potato chips this time. That’s what Brian and I normally get whenever we go to the Anchor because we can split the five-piece. It’s more than enough food for the two of us.
I always recommend the Anchor to anyone who’s new to Wichita because you can’t find it anywhere but here. Mama Dill is from the East Coast so it was great that she could try a place that’s unique to Wichita. Little did I know that Jay and Becca had never been there, which amazes me considering that they just live (and work) around the corner from the restaurant.
Anyway, Jay didn’t get to join us the other day because of his BNI meeting so he and Brian decided that they’re both going to the Anchor for a man-date on Tuesday while I’m in Topeka for a meeting. LOL.

Sunday Brunch at Legends
Posted on July 16, 2013 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Brian and I had a wonderful brunch on Sunday with April, Gavin, Becca, Jay, Ashton, Mama Dill, and Linda. Thank you so much for inviting us, Jay! It had been a while since we’ve been there last and I’d almost forgotten how much we like it.
It’s not great for the diet, but we definitely have to put Legends back in the rotation — even if just for a yearly visit.
If you’re looking for a great place for brunch, I highly recommend Legends. I think it’s probably the best brunch value in town, hands down. The food is always really good and with Moe cooking made-to-order omelets, you can’t beat it.
We always like celebrating holidays and birthdays at Legends. We’ve gone less frequently over the last few years because buffets are not conducive to losing weight but, if you’re going to cheat on your diet, you might as well go all out. Legends is definitely the place to do it.

Freebirds World Burrito
Posted on July 8, 2013 by Ching under Food and Drink.
Brian and I finally got to try Freebirds!
The concept is a lot like Chipotle but they have funkier 70s era decor and they have way more food options. For instance, instead of being limited to one kind of rice, you have a choice between cilantro lime rice like what they serve at Chipotle or Spanish rice (the orange stuff).
Here’s the bowl that I created.
Here’s Brian’s bowl.
Here’s Brian checking out the surroundings.
Freebirds is way cooler than Chipotle. That’s for sure.
Decor aside, the restaurant is pretty much like a snazzed up version of Chipotle. I thought the prices were higher. Then again, it can be expensive to offer that much selection. If you know what you like and it’s available at Chipotle, then you’re probably better off dining there as it’s a better value. If you like having lots of options, then Freebirds is the place to go. Oh, and Chipotle doesn’t have queso and margaritas.
