My New Bow Belt
Posted on December 10, 2011 by Ching under Shopping.
I wore my new bow belt for the first time yesterday. I’m not quite sure what other outfits I can wear it with. I mostly just got it because I thought I could wear it with my tacky sweater. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite work with that outfit. The belt is super cute, though. I think it will go really well with my Brighton Roselie coin purse.

Ching’s Mardi Gras Christmas Tree
Posted on December 10, 2011 by Ching under Things to Do.
Brian helped me decorate my office on Tuesday night. We wouldn’t have been there so late except we didn’t really have a plan. We just had all of these random holiday decorations and didn’t know what to do with them. We finally decided to just make a Christmas tree shape with the white garland.
Here’s the result. It’s a little tacky, but oh well. We had fun making it. Sorta.
I don’t usually decorate, but all of the decorations going up at work inspired me. My coworkers are so creative! I’ll try to take pictures of the most festive cubicles at work next week and share them with you guys.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Posted on December 8, 2011 by Ching under Movies.
I’m really looking forward to the American adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s Män som hatar kvinnor, the first in novel of the Millennium trilogy. I had the opportunity to watch the Swedish versions (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl who Played with Fire
, and The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest
) over the last few weeks and have really enjoyed them. I think the first one was the best one, but part two and three of the series were good also. Even Brian got into it, and he normally doesn’t like foreign films. He hates having to read subtitles.
The funny thing is that we were hanging out in our living room watching the The Girl who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest on Sunday when I told him that my stomach was upset and I needed to go to the bathroom. He was like, “You should just go to the bathroom down here so you can still hear the movie.”
I just gave him this look and busted up laughing. I was laughing so hard I almost cried. “What good will that do me? I don’t speak Swedish!” After realizing how absurd his suggestion was, he started laughing too. He laughed so much that he turned red. We had a good laugh about it for several minutes.
I’m looking forward to the American adaptation so that I can pick up on all those subtle nuances that I might have missed by having to read the subtitles. I’m not a huge Daniel Craig fan, but I think actually think he makes a good Micke Blomkvist. Check out the movie trailer below.
Looks pretty good, doesn’t it? I’m thinking of taking Brian to watch it over Christmas vacation. Anyone want to go with us?
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the novels or films, the Swedish versions of all three films are available on Netflix Instant Watch. It might not be a bad idea to watch them before the American versions are released.

I can’t find my address book. Rather than spamming everyone with address requests, I figured I would just post the form on our blog. If we should have your mailing address and/or other contact information, please complete the form below. Thanks in advance for all of your help. It is much appreciated!

My Very Weird Dream
Posted on December 4, 2011 by Ching under Dreams.
I had a really weird dream this morning. I normally don’t have weird dreams. I blame my sister because she was talking about dreams at dinner the other night.
Anyway, I had a dream that I was walking around naked in the locker room at the gym (yes, completely naked; I had my towel in my hand, but it wasn’t covering my body) when I realized I was in the men’s locker room instead of the women’s. This really freaked me out because I have used a men’s restroom on accident before at least a couple of times in real life. Just not paying attention. So I could kind of see this happening to me.
When I realized this, I walked over to the adjoining women’s locker room. I didn’t cover up or anything. I just walked over. I know. It’s very weird. Anyway, when I went in there, the women looked completely shocked that I was in there with them.
I see lots of naked women of all shapes and sizes in the women’s locker room at the gym. It doesn’t shock me. But these ladies had a look of shock and mortification, like I wasn’t supposed to be in there with them. That’s when I woke up.
After thinking about my dream to some extent this morning, I’m still not sure what it means. I’m hoping my sister who has a fascination for dreams can help me figure it out. I’m wondering, though. I never looked in the mirror in my dream. What if I was a man and I was really supposed to be in the men’s locker room with the other men? Is that why the women were so shocked to see me? A naked man in the women’s locker room? What was wrong with me that they were so mortified?
