Misty and Me at the Broadview
Posted on September 3, 2011 by Ching under Life.
We took this photo in the restroom at the newly renovated Broadview Hotel downtown after the Riverfest volunteer appreciation party on Thursday. I can’t believe I missed Zumba to attend it. I think Nick and Natalie had the right idea in skipping the event. LOL.
It was great to see Misty, though. I hadn’t seen her in what seems like forever. Though, in reality, I think it has only been a few weeks.
P.S. They did a pretty good job on the Broadview renovation. The lobby is bright and looks great. We didn’t get to tour the hotel, though. I really wanted to see the rooms and the rest of the place, too. Oh, well. Maybe next time.

Brian Spoils Me
Posted on September 2, 2011 by Ching under Life.
When I woke up on Tuesday morning I found that Brian had made my lunch, put protein in three of our shaker cups, and filled up my water jug. He said that he left me a note because he figured I was half asleep when he left that morning and probably didn’t understand anything he said. LOL.
Besides that, Bebot was down to a quarter of a tank of gas, so he filled up the tank on Monday night so that I wouldn’t have to get gas while he was away. I have the best husband ever!

Our Halted Anniversary Celebration Continues
Posted on August 28, 2011 by Ching under Life.
Brian and I started our weekend off at Nilla’s. Neither of us had much luck that night. We both got knocked out, almost back to back, shortly after the break. On the plus side, we got knocked out early enough that we could make to Suede for some salsa dancing. We hadn’t been out there in several weeks.
On Saturday night, Brian and I attended Chef Jason Febres’ sushi class at Taste & See. It was loads of fun. I can’t wait to take another one of his cooking classes!
This afternoon we had our 85-minute couples massage at Healing Waters. It’s our anniversary gift to one another. We were originally going to go with Serenity, our usual and Brian’s favorite, but they took forever to post their August specials. I think it was already mid-month before they had it up on their web site. We don’t really like waiting until the last minute to schedule our stuff, so I went ahead and booked with Healing Waters. I’m actually kind of glad I did, as it had been several years since we’ve been. The last time we had massages at Healing Waters, they were still on Douglas.
Their new location is quite impressive. It’s a dozen times better than the old place. The relaxation area is much bigger and boasts a great view of the lake and waterfall. The locker room is really nice also. There’s even a sauna in there. Brian said they don’t have one in the men’s locker room. Yet another reason why it’s great to be a woman! LOL.
Sometimes it’s not enough to just celebrate your anniversary in one night/day or one weekend. Many times we find ourselves celebrating for an entire week or an entire month. Our next anniversary-related outing will be The Script concert at Hartman Arena in a couple of weeks. That should be it for a while. Although, I kind of like this celebrating all the time thing. I think we should start celebrating our marriage not just on our anniversary date, weekend, or month, but throughout the year.

Guess What
Posted on August 22, 2011 by Ching under Shopping.
My belts fit me again! Woot!
Speaking of… Brian was wondering why I didn’t buy any clothes at Kohl’s on Saturday. Well, for one, we spent way too much already. We did pretty good, though. $100 usually only gets Brian a pair of pants and a shirt at Express, if that. At Kohl’s your money goes a long way. Brian got two long-sleeved dress shirts, one short-sleeved button down shirt, and a nice pair of dress pants.
I told him that I didn’t need to buy clothes because we were going to my mom and dad’s the next day. I was dropping off some of my larger clothes in exchange for smaller ones. I was hoping that she still had some of my old clothes that I had taken over there when I got too big to fit in them. I never really bought trendy stuff, so most of my old clothes are still wearable. Anyway, as luck would have it, she had some of my old stuff and her own stuff that she no longer wanted. I left with five pairs of dress pants. Score!
In the meantime, I can keep wearing jeans to work until September 2 since we’re doing some fundraising at work. When my time’s up, I’ve got some dress pants that fit. Then come November, Brian and I can do our real shopping. FTW!
I’m so glad that mom kept a lot of clothes that I’d taken over there over the years. She saved me a ton. Thanks, mom!

Overheard at the Doctor’s Office
Posted on August 22, 2011 by Ching under Life.
Somehow you always end up waiting in the room for several minutes before the doctor comes in… It never fails…
ME: I’m so gassy right now. I think I’m going to fart.
BRIAN: OMG. You’re going to let it rip just as the doctor walks in the room.
ME: Hey, at least it’s not while he’s doing a pelvic exam. It could be worse.
BRIAN: You’re right.
So I let out a couple of loud ones, and we laugh. A couple of seconds later…
ME: Ewww.. It’s stinky! I think we need to open the door or something.
Bwa ha ha ha ha ha! Thankfully, the doctor took a long time and the foul odor was gone by the time he entered the room. =P
