Brian is Totally Relaxed

Brian waited in the relaxation room when he took me to my waxing at Beau Monde on Saturday. This is the state that I found him in. LOL.

You already saw the food photos at FOODIES, but now here are the people photos. The first one is of Donna and David, followed by Kim’s parents Kathy and Ken. Then Chris Feifel who picked up the dinner tab that night. 🙂

Kathy’s Cannelloni got burnt so they had to remake it. Brian gave our server a hard time by telling him that Ken and Kathy came call the way from Canada to eat at Carrabba’s and we didn’t want their first Carrabba’s experience to be less than stellar. Of course, Ken and Kathy came to be with family. Dinner at Carrabba’s was just a bonus.

Not only did they comp the Cannelloni, but they also gave us a couple of things of the delicious apple dessert to share. I just love, love, love Carrabba’s! The food is always great and they always take care of you.

P.S. My phone was out of battery so we had to take photos using David’s Blackberry. Thank you so much for taking photos and sending them to me!

Yummy blackberry Sangria!

P.P.S. Carrabba’s blackberry sangria is probably the only sangria that’s better than mine. You’ll have to try it next time you’re there, if you haven’t tried it already. It’s simply delicious!

Brian is Richly Rewarded

Posted on December 5, 2010 by under Health.

Brian’s reward for being a good sport and going with me to Midnight Magic at Legends in Kansas City was a 90-minute massage. He earned it!

I’m so glad April told me about the Serenity special on Wise Buys a couple of months ago. I had two $50 gift certificates laying around that we used toward the couples massage. I guess we’d just been so busy that we hadn’t had a chance to use them. They came in handy last Sunday, though. We just had to pay for the difference and gratuity. I love, love, love good deals!

Continuation of Jenni’s Birthday

Posted on December 4, 2010 by under Life.

As you know, the family celebrated Jenni’s birthday early a couple of weeks ago. Jenni also planned another celebration, though. Brian and I came out to Liquid last weekend to continue Jenni’s birthday celebration.

It fell on the same night as Becca’s birthday, but it worked out because people don’t really go to the night clubs until late in the evening. So we went to Becca’s birthday party first, and then Jenni’s thing at Liquid after.

Jenni got these gloves for her birthday from one of her regular customers.

We got to meet Jenni’s friend Dustin and his sister Sami. She is pretty wild and loves, loves, loves to dance. Though, I think that might even be an understatement.

When we were talking about how we were all DHS grads (except for Jenni, who technically dropped out), Sami made me (and probably Brian, too) feel old by announcing that she’s class of 2007. As if I didn’t feel ancient enough, not knowing any of the songs that were playing. Naturally, Sami knew all of the words because she is young and hip. (Fortunately for me, I don’t have to know the song to dance to it.)

Her enthusiasm and energy were actually quite refreshing. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who enjoys dancing as much as she does. I’d finally met my match. LOL.

I had so much fun dancing with Sami last weekend. Even though I didn’t recognize the songs or had never heard of them before. I usually just mimic what the other people on the dance floor are doing and have fun regardless.

Speaking of dancing, I think that the sales associate at Zales today thought I was a “dancer” when I told her that I needed my ring sized down because I kept having to keep it from coming off when I’m dancing. Brian felt the need to clarify and explain that what I meant by dancing is Salsa dancing. At Suede. On Friday nights. Not the exotic variety, which we were afraid is what she might have been thinking.

Although, she didn’t say, “You’re a dancer?” like “Really? I think you might be a little overweight for that.” She said it in a more excited/animated way almost like we had something in common. I took it as a compliment. Hey, maybe all of the Zumba workouts are finally paying off? LOL. Either that, or the exotic dancers in Wichita are generally on the chunky side. Brian, who isn’t a fan of gentleman’s clubs, always maintains that the dancers are usually unattractive. In which case, did that woman just insult me?

Then again, what does Brian know about these things? He’s only been to a strip club once before, and that was when he was 18. I’m pretty sure that he has no clue what he is talking about. But I’m far more clueless about these things than he is because I’ve never even been to one. At least he’s been once, even though it’s been almost a couple of decades. Surely, things have changed a lot since then. Maybe the dancers are prettier these days.

Incidentally, I hear that exotic dancing is actually a pretty good workout. I might just have to pick it up some day. Not professionally, of course, but I could add it to my growing list of hobbies.

Anyway, Brian keeps dying at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 so I think this may be a sign that it’s time for bed. Thanks for coming by to read the blog.

Until next time,
Ching
