The moon looks so low. It appears as though you could almost reach up and touch it.

David and Donna’s Basement
Posted on September 14, 2008 by Ching under Life.
The sump pump crapped out and quit so the basement flooded. Brian said they got over 8 inches! It happened on Friday night. Brian and I got a call from his dad at one in the morning. He was at Wal-Mart getting clean-up supplies. Brian was over there yesterday morning while I was at the gym working out. He helped replace the sump.
We went back this morning to help throw out damaged items. We filled Brian’s truck bed, David’s trailer, and then still had a bunch of stuff that we ended lining up along the side of the house. At first we were thinking the process would take all day. Thankfully, the Dills and the Phelps showed up around 9:30 am and we were done by 11:00 am or so. The all day job turned into a three-hour job, so it wasn’t too bad. More pictures to follow.. Stay tuned!

Theme Growing on Me
Posted on September 13, 2008 by Ching under Life.
This layout is growing on me. Plus, I’m thinking it loads faster than the other two graphics-intensive layouts that I’ve been playing with. Plus, the white background will probably make the blog easier to read for Brian’s grandmother. Maybe this isn’t a bad theme, after all? Or I could be just rationalizing it so that I wouldn’t have to figure out how to fix my WordPress theme switching problem. LOL. Life has been super busy. I’m adding a calendar so you guys know what we are up to…

Volleyball and Pool Party at Doug’s
Posted on September 1, 2008 by Ching under Life.
We spent the afternoon at Doug’s playing volleyball in the pool. It is so much fun. Our team kept losing, but we still had a good time.
Doug has the best backyard set up. He has several lounge chairs by the pool, it makes you feel like you’re on a perpetual vacation. If we had a pool, we probably wouldn’t have any reason to get away.
The days are starting to get really short. I remember that last couple of times we went, it was still bright at 8:30 pm. Last night, it was dark by 8:30 pm and so we had to cut our game of Ladder Golf short because we could no longer see.
Speaking of Ladder Golf… That’s one cool yard game. I’m thinking we should make one. It would make a great housewarming gift. I found these great instructions, complete with pictures online. It doesn’t look hard. Maybe we’ll make some for everyone we know? LOL. That’s what everyone is getting for Christmas this year. What a brilliant idea!
