Nothing has ever made me want to commit suicide more than my current accounting class. This guy has no consideration for those of us who happen to work fulltime. Every single week, tons of homework problems are assigned. As in, why don’t you just forget about your life because you will need to eat, sleep and breathe accounting the entire semester in order to pass the class. I pray that I will manage to somehow pull a C. I hate getting bad grades, just as I hate doing poorly at anything, but accounting is one of those things that I know I will never be good at.. The first step is acceptance, right? Just last night I was whining to Jen about how I can’t play poker any more and I can’t workout and I can’t do anything I want to do because of my current load at school. I think I bit off more than I can chew this time. I am so freakin’ stressed out. I think I’m due for a nervous breakdown. I’m not sure how much good that will do, though. Anyway, I think accounting is to blame. I’ve always hated accounting. But I came up with this brilliant plan to minor in it – a stupid decision that I am now regretting. I thought it was brilliant at the time, though. But you all know that hindsight is always 20/20. Isn’t that how the saying goes? Of course, Jen’s response is pretty much of the I-told-you-so variety. Her favorite thing to say to me is, “Accounting eats away your soul.” I really should have heeded her warning. She has been saying that since our ACCT 560 class with Yu Cong. Back then she planned to minor in accounting also. However, she was smart and nixed the idea. I was dumb and persevered with my brilliant-but-stupid plan. She still has her soul. Mine, on the other hand, is pretty much all gone. By the time the semester is over, there will be nothing left of it. There will be nothing left of me! So anyway, can some accounting genius out there please email me before I actually off myself?

His name is Jesus, pronounced hay-zeus. We named him that because he’s a stray cat. Brian had been sneaking him cat food for over a month now. Since winter is just around the corner, Brian felt bad and so he begged and pleaded with me to let Jesus into the house. I finally relented so now we have three cats again.

As you all know this week (October 3rd through October 7th) was National Customer Service Appreciation week. While it has been fun, I’m so glad that it is finally over with. I actually broke my participation record. I participated every single dress up day. Something that I’d never done before, not even in high school. Monday was mistmatch day. I actually went to lunch at Jason’s Deli, went to Sam’s Club to pick up the cakes and then to school dressed in mismatched attire. But you know, nothing embarrasses me anymore. Surprisingly, I didn’t get a lot of strange looks on campus. I guess they all figured that is how I normally dress anyway so it’s not like there was anything different. I didn’t really have any special clothes for 80’s day so I just put something together from my closet. I have these off-shoulder shirts that I got a couple of years ago from
Abercrombie & Fitch so I put the red one on over a light blue racerback tank. I wore a short poufy skirt, leg warmers and pumps. Then I was going to tease my hair but I didn’t have any hairspray so I just wore my hair in a high side pony tail. I looked pretty 80’s. Lance and I actually went to Sam’s Club. I think he was kind of embarrassed to be seen with me because of my ridiculous get up. The funny thing is I had to activate a line of credit with Sam’s because Sam’s doesn’t take credit cards and I don’t have a pin to my debit card. So they had to take my picture with my hair in a side pony tail. I don’t want to hear anyone complain about their driver’s license picture ever. My Sam’s Club photo experience is a lot worse than that by leaps. I had a little bit of time to change before class so I didn’t have to go looking all 80’s. I moved my pony tail to the middle, took off my leg warmers and replaced the pumps with flip flops. My clothes were actually pretty normal-looking otherwise. Wednesday was crazy hat day but I don’t really own any crazy hats so I just put on my Roxy denim hat. I’ve had it since at least 1999. I even have a picture of me wearing it in the bedroom of our old townhouse. I don’t know if it’s in
my Flickr album. I think it might be, but I’m too lazy to sift through over two thousand pictures.

Just one of the perks of having a pro account. LOL. Anyway, this photo was taken May 2000.] Thursday was Hawaiian day. It was also the day of our luncheon. The next day was slippers day. I think everything went great with the food and the games. The only off thing was the ice cream that we provided on Friday when it was kind of cold out. But the plans were made in September when the weather was still pretty warm. I guess we didn’t expect winter weather so soon. People ate the ice cream anyway, though. I guess there’s never a bad time for ice cream. Â 😛

Here’s a quick update for those of you who are wondering why I am missing in action. My Blogger account was messed up over the weekend. I had posted a couple of blogs but they didn’t update until yesterday. On top of that, Brian’s computer went kaput due to the power outage on Friday. Spent $150 getting it fixed when it really should’ve only cost us $40. That’s because we are dumb and we don’t know jack about computer hardware. It’s times like these when I really miss having Jason around. I hate that they freakin’ moved to Georgia. He was “the” computer god! Then, I lost $65 on Ultimate Bet last night. I lost all of the money I had on my account and then started playing with Brian’s account and lost all of his money too. This is “real” money, mind you! I felt so bad that I wanted to cry. Of course, my way of solving the problem was offering to put more money into our poker accounts. Thank God Brian was smart enough to decline. Had he let me do it, I’m sure I would’ve lost the reload too. On the plus side, my right tail light that has been broken for over a year now is working again out of the blue. Brian had offered to fix it a long time ago. He went to the auto parts store but they said that they didn’t have the part necessary or it wasn’t a blown out bulb or something. Anyway, we would’ve had to take the car to the repair shop. Me being me, I said don’t bother. It’s not like I’m going to get pulled over ever. I’m the safest driver in the world! So I never did get pulled over and then last week I hit my right turn signal on accident and it was blinking normal instead of the superfast blinking that it usually does. Brian and I checked on Saturday and sure enough the tail light and signal are both working again. Isn’t that weird? It just goes to show you, if you wait long enough things will fix themselves. That applies to relationships too, not just cars. 😉
