I Must Be Shrinking

Posted on June 21, 2011 by under Health, Shopping.

Brian and I went to Old Navy today to pick up a pair of shorts for me so I can use my Old Navy Groupon before it expired. We meant to use it on Saturday when Brian picked up some new clothes, but we forgot all about it. We only remembered to use the gift card that he got from his parents for his birthday. If I would have thought of it, we would have been able to reduce the amount that we charged to our credit card. Brian got a ton of new stuff to replenish his wardrobe since he is down to mediums now.

Anyway, we couldn’t really apply the Groupon to a previous purchase so we figured we’d just have to go back and pick up something inexpensive that we can use our Groupon on. What a racket right? You buy a Groupon thinking that you’ll be saving mucho dinero, but really you just end up buying stuff that you probably wouldn’t have bought otherwise. Are you really saving money? Well, I guess you do as long as you’re not forgetful like I am. I really need to quit buying Groupons just for the sake of buying them.

The good news is that my new pair of shorts only cost me .73 cents. Cheapest shorts I ever bought! LOL. Oh, the other good news is that I can now squeeze myself into size 2s in Old Navy bottoms. Who would have thought? Although, I ended up buying the size 4s. They are a little loose but I got them because they felt more comfortable around my thighs, which are annoyingly huge. Also, I’ve never been all that impressed with the quality of Old Navy garments, so I think they might shrink when I put them in the dryer. In which case they’ll fit me perfectly after.

I told Brian that I’m going to have to try on my summer clothes before we pack them for our trip because they might not fit right. At least I know I’ll have a pair of shorts that fit me that I can bring on the trip. I may just have to settle for looking yagit for a while, until I can buy some smaller clothes. I know for sure that I need some new dress pants for work. My Express 6s that used to fit me perfectly now fit me like my old Eddie Bauer 6s. I haven’t been a size 4 in Express in years so this is quite exciting! I’ve decided to hold off on buying new work pants until after we return from Boston, though. I’m kind of picky when it comes to work pants. I think I might just go shopping on the Thursday or Friday after we return from our trip.

Anyhow, I just wanted to share that exciting news. It’s a slow and gradual process, but I think I’m actually returning to my old size. Never in a million years did I think that would be possible. Now I’m thinking that I just might be able to get size 2 this year if I keep up this level of physical activity. Which isn’t bad really, considering that I’m doing things that I thoroughly enjoy doing and I get to be around hot, sexy ladies all the time. I love, love, love my fellow Zumba girls!

Ching’s Workout Shoes

Posted on May 30, 2011 by under Health.

This is what happens when I forget to take my workout shoes back into the house after a workout. I try to wear different sneakers each time so I don’t wear the shoes out too soon. It also helps that they’re different colors to match various Zumba outfits. LOL.

I like the pink and black pair for several reasons: they’re really comfortable, they don’t have shoelaces that get untied in the middle of my workout, and they go really well with almost all of my Zumba gear. The one thing I don’t like about them is that they don’t offer as much support as my other shoes.

The black and white ones are Nike Huaraches. They’re just like the red ones that I posted last week. Gina Ann swears by them. They normally cost $60, but I found them on sale at the Nike Outlet for about $20 so I got two colors. They are very comfortable. If they had another color, I probably would have bought those too. Can’t beat the sale price. I could have gotten three pairs for the price of one!

It’s not really impractical because I workout a lot. So it’s not like I won’t get good use out of them. I Zumba five days a week these days. As long as there are no other obligations that keep me from attending, I go to Gina Ann’s classes on Monday and Wednesday nights and then also on Saturday morning and Amie’s Thursday night and Sunday afternoon classes. That is what I love about Genesis. They have Zumba fitness classes every single day of the week. The YMCA has Zumba almost every day of the week too, but their classes are way too crowded. I like that we’re not packed like sardines in Amie’s and Gina Ann’s classes.

My training sessions with John will be on Tuesdays and Sundays going forward because the training sessions after Zumba on Mondays and Wednesday are killing me. This means no turbokick on Tuesday. Sorry, Amie. Not like I’ll be able to keep up, anyway. Besides, it’s only temporary. Once I get in shape, then I can start attending turbokick. I have to work my way up to it first. I can’t wait until my body is stronger!

Brian is Looking Good

Posted on May 29, 2011 by under Health, Shopping.

Brian went shopping for new clothes today because he’s lost quite a bit of weight.

He can actually fit in medium shirts and size 32 pants again. He hasn’t worn 32 pants in years!

Way to go, baby!
