Thank You Card from Gavin
Posted on October 9, 2011 by Ching under Babies.
Got a thank you card from Gavin stuck to our door when we arrived home from the gym this morning. Best surprise ever!
This reminds me of the one that came from Carolyn. Some moms are just so creative! Thank you, April!

This is too cute not to share. 🙂
Isn’t she the cutest ever? Thank you for the sweet “thank you” card, Care-Care! Sorry the tag reader won’t read all your other books to you. LOL!
P.S. This was too cute not to share. I hope you don’t mind my sharing it, Gina Ann. 🙂

Gavin’s Very Own Playground
Posted on August 7, 2011 by Ching under Babies, Life.
Finally got to see the swing set that Cory and April bought for Gavin. They got a really good deal on it. I think it was regularly $500-$600 and they got it for less than $200 on closeout. April is the queen of deals.
Feifel helped Cory put it together last weekend. Brian couldn’t help because it was a very busy weekend for us. He had a massage appointment, errands, Carolyn’s birthday party at Gina and Coley’s, dinner with everyone at PCP (since the Dill’s were moving back to the East Coast – they are there now), and he still hadn’t packed for his trip.
When we were at dinner Jay was actually proud of Brian for not being packed yet, despite the fact that he was leaving in a few hours. Of course, Brian was only going to be gone for three days. We are known for packing one to two weeks in advance of our trips, though. Packing only hours before departure is actually pretty uncharacteristic of Brian.
Anyway, Brian felt bad that he couldn’t help. Although, I think he is secretly relieved that he had stuff going on and was able to get out of it because it was a ten-hour project. Who knew building these things could be complicated? No wonder they are typically left behind when people sell their house and move. LOL.
We had fun at Gavin’s birthday. I think the three glasses of sangria helped. Kidding aside, I thought the inflatable water slide was a brilliant idea.
At least the bigger kids seemed to get a kick out of it. Gavin was afraid to go down the slide, but seemed to have fun regardless. Ethan was crying most of the time. You can hear him in the video. Must have been the heat. I think he was happier once he was inside the house.

Tis the Season for Summer Birthday Parties
Posted on July 23, 2011 by Ching under Babies, Wishlist.
A bunch of our friends decided they would have babies at the same time so their kids are now all turning two. We were invited to a birthday party every single Saturday over the next three weeks. Yikes! I guess it could have been worse. The birthday parties could have all been scheduled over one weekend. LOL.
I always ask the parents for a wishlist to simplify the gift-buying process on my end. As you all know, I’m a busy person. Between work and working out, there really isn’t much time left in my day. Gina Ann, who is always on top of things, was the first person to send me a wishlist. I found the best gift for Carolyn from her list (something educational that also looks like fun for the kiddo) so, to further simplify things, I just asked Apple and April if Zane and Gavin have this same toy already. As luck would have it, neither did. I ended up buying three of them — online, so I didn’t even have to leave the house. Bam! Gift shopping done. Just like that.
You might find my methods a little tacky but, you have to admit, it’s pretty efficient. Plus, wishlists are always the way to go. This way you don’t end up with stuff that you either already have or absolutely have no use for. But that’s just me.
By the way, all three gifts are wrapped and ready to go. Am I good or what?

Happy Easter!
Posted on April 24, 2011 by Ching under Babies.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday.
Brian and I did some planting today. One of the best things about living in our apartment complex is that they give us free geraniums every year. Last year I got a couple of red ones. This year I got a salmon colored one (above). Isn’t it pretty?
Anyway, while we were off work on Friday, running around, doing errands, I found out that they had some more geraniums left over. They had several shocking pink ones. I guess those weren’t very popular. It worked out for me because then I got a few more. So this morning, Brian and I repotted all of our additional geranium plants. I don’t have any pictures of the new ones because they don’t have blooms yet. They’re not much to look at right now. I’ll take some pictures in a week or two.
The one shown in the photo above, I got and repotted about a week or so ago. I had a glass pitcher that cracked in the dishwasher, but I didn’t want to throw it away so I decided to repurpose it as flower pot. It turned out great, don’t you think?
