It’s Not About Who Won
Posted on August 21, 2011 by Ching under Games, Wishlist.
It’s not about who won. It’s about who lost. Jenni and I both knew we were no match for Anthony. Basically, it was a contest for second place. LOL.
It was a really close game. Most enjoyable game of Scrabble I’d ever played. Thank you Jenni and Anthony!
Incidentally, last night’s Scrabble game made me realize that I am in dire need of a new set. The ten-year-old one I have just isn’t cutting it anymore. I want one of those “deluxe” Scrabble games with the rotating board/table. Hmmm… Maybe Brian will get me one for my birthday.

My New TSA-Approved Backpack
Posted on July 24, 2011 by Brian under Travel, Wishlist.
So we went to Sam’s the other day to get a few small items. As we were walking through one of the aisles, I came across one of the new TSA-approved SwissGear computer bags. These things are really great for travelers like myself who hate going through airport security.
Before, I had to take my laptop out of the bag, place it in a separate container, deal with all of my other stuff as well, and pick everything up and put it all together at the end which can be quite cumbersome. Now, I can just unzip it, lay it flat, run it through and pick it up at the end. I love it!
If you order it online, it only comes in black. However, Sam’s Club carries it in black, blue and gray. I got a gray one because the blue one was ugly and black is too common.

Tis the Season for Summer Birthday Parties
Posted on July 23, 2011 by Ching under Babies, Wishlist.
A bunch of our friends decided they would have babies at the same time so their kids are now all turning two. We were invited to a birthday party every single Saturday over the next three weeks. Yikes! I guess it could have been worse. The birthday parties could have all been scheduled over one weekend. LOL.
I always ask the parents for a wishlist to simplify the gift-buying process on my end. As you all know, I’m a busy person. Between work and working out, there really isn’t much time left in my day. Gina Ann, who is always on top of things, was the first person to send me a wishlist. I found the best gift for Carolyn from her list (something educational that also looks like fun for the kiddo) so, to further simplify things, I just asked Apple and April if Zane and Gavin have this same toy already. As luck would have it, neither did. I ended up buying three of them — online, so I didn’t even have to leave the house. Bam! Gift shopping done. Just like that.
You might find my methods a little tacky but, you have to admit, it’s pretty efficient. Plus, wishlists are always the way to go. This way you don’t end up with stuff that you either already have or absolutely have no use for. But that’s just me.
By the way, all three gifts are wrapped and ready to go. Am I good or what?

Brian Needs New Clothes
Posted on May 31, 2011 by Ching under Wishlist.
Brian cleaned out his closet the other day. Here’s the result…
His closet now has some breathing room and my darling husband is left in dire need of clothes that fit. Aah, the joys of losing weight.

It’s that time again.

It’s that time again!
My birthday is coming up, that means that I am starting to get questions about gifts.
My wife has asked that I put a list up for anyone who is interested. So here it is.
Belted Longer Length Cargo Shorts from Express. I like these because they are longer than your normal shorts. I am kind of picky about the length of shorts because I am self-conscious about my legs. It’s something I am working on but it will be a while before I am happy with the way they look. Thanks to my recent workout routine I have lost some weight and can now fit into a 32 waist.
Also at Express you can find these great Stretch Cotton Crew Neck Tee’s, I love these shirts. I have three already but would love to get some more. They come in a variety of colors but again, I am picky. I am not a flashy person and bright colors don’t really do it for me. The only colors I like are Heather Grey, Light Heather Grey, Pewter, Pitch Black, Pure White and Utility Green. Due to my weight loss, I can now fit in Mediums.
The new Mortal Kombat for the PlayStation 3, you can find it at Best Buy. I loved playing this back in the day. My wife and I used to invite our friends over and have fight night when I had the PS2. Between the Mortal Kombat series and the Tekken Series we had plenty to keep us occupied. We would compete to see who could outlast who.
Starcraft was one of my favorite games. I would play it for hours, just loosing myself in it. Now they have Starcraft 2. This would be one that I would love to have. Practicality has kept me from buying it. Every time I go to buy a game I think about this one but settle for another. From what I have seen of it, this would be a great game to have.
I have several other things in mind, but these are the things that I just wont usually buy myself. If you’re like me and you don’t feel comfortable buying clothes for someone, gift cards to these locations usually work well. I know I am a 32 waist in Old Navy, but the same may not be true for Express. I have learned that each company does its own sizing. If anything include a gift receipt, that’s what I always do no matter what.
