Let’s Chismis

Posted on October 18, 2007 by under Web.

Gretchen Barretto pics via Obnoxious Queer.

I’m not really one to follow Pinoy celeb chismis but when I found this on Pinoyblog.com I thought I would share. Anyway, these are likely not real. It’s supposedly some advert photo shoot or something, but the Pinoy chismosos and chismosas are having a hey day. Specially in the wake of the Gretchen Barretto and John Estrada “kissing” photo scandal.

It’s amazing that Gretchen continues to be chismis fodder considering she hasn’t been in the Philippine show business for many years. I guess some people are just naturally controversial personalities.

Jenni’s New Hanging Bookshelves

My spoiled little sister wrote about her new bookshelves the other day.

“Sunday Dad finished my bookshelves.. There’s another set just right beside it. Almost all my books fit, actually, I was way surprised. Dad says to keep an eye on it for the next couple of days to make sure it doesn’t give. That’s very reassuring, huh?

He also tried to charge me $150 for the materials, and $80 an hour for the labor.

Really, Dad? I don’t think I would have hired a programmer that cost that much to make my bookshelves for me. Especially since you did almost miss the stud.

You have to hand it to him though, the bookshelves look fantabulous. I’m so very excited.”

By the way, I’m really digging this Payperpost thing. So far so, good. I am almost a third of the way to earning $300 toward my new digital camera. I have received $80.25 since I first signed up. Then I have another $95.15 coming my way. Of the the $95.15 that’s pending, four blog entries (about $39.00 worth) have already been approved. So I am just waiting on the payment for those. The rest (about four more blog entries) are still waiting to be reviewed.

You guys should sign up for Payperpost and start blogging for bucks today. I’m not just saying this because I will get $15 out of the referral, either. It really works!

Keeping Romance Alive

Posted on September 30, 2007 by under Life, Sponsored Post, Web.

Brian and I often get mistaken for newlyweds. When we tell others that we’ve been together for over eight years – one year of dating (actually more like a few months), two years of living together and five years of marriage – they usually can’t believe it. They want to know what our secret is. There’s really not a big secret or method to it. Brian and I just make sure we set aside time do fun things and we always celebrate milestones. We don’t necessarily spend money on gifts for anniversaries, but we invest in memories. Our philosophy is that any new toy or trinket you have will only last a few years (if you’re lucky) before you grow tire of it or it breaks. Memories, on the other hand, last a lifetime.

These celebrations – for anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, etc. – need not be expensive. There are many resources on the internet that will give you ideas. Romance for Everyone is one such web site. They have many tips on how to cultivate love and romance, articles on relationships, and samples of love letters. The web site also has sample “I miss you” and “I’m sorry” letters, perfect for times when flowers aren’t enough to convey how you feel. Although it’s better if you write your own, the sample love letters are particularly helpful to those of us who are not so creative or don’t have a talent for letter-writing. At the very least the sample letters will help to inspire you.

It’s not just a hobby, it’s an ADVENTURE!

Posted on September 1, 2007 by under Reviews, Sponsored Post, Toys, Web.

My father and I have been restoring a Vietnam Era M151-A2 Military jeep that he purchased from a private owner. As part of our restoration we have been purchasing several items that we use in displays in shows that are held around the country. We set up these displays to be judged and admired by everyone. One of the hardest things to get is real replica’s of the weapons that were used with the Jeeps. At first we wanted to be authentic and get decommissioned real guns that were used in the Vietnam Era. However, after searching for a very long time we found that not only was it almost imposable to get these weapons it was very expensive and we just could not afford the price. One night I was looking around the internet and came across a web site that offered air rifles at really reasonable prices. Airgun Depot was the answer to our problem by offering realistic replicas at a very reasonable price. We perused the site and found the weapons that we needed and after purchasing an M16 replica we received it home and looked it over. We were surprised that even up close this air rifle was very realistic and fit our purpose perfectly. We purchased several other air rifles for the display and have not been disappointed with the products at all. The web site was very easy to navigate and the shipping and delivery were excellent.
