Un Cuento Divertido
Posted on October 29, 2012 by Ching under Life, Spanish.
A friend of mine at work today brought over a card to sign for one of our coworkers who will be celebrating their 35th service anniversary on Wednesday.
ME: Wow! Can you believe it? 35 years is a long time. That’s awesome!
AMY: I know! WE weren’t even born yet!
ME: What is this WE stuff? You weren’t, but I was!
AMY: Cherrie! You’re not 35?! Are you? (I think she might have said something like, “You’re not THAT old!” LOL.)
ME: Today I’m not, but tomorrow I am.
I told Amy she made my day for thinking that I’m younger than I really am. LOL. Incidentally, one of our exercises in Spanish class today was to tell a funny story. Past tense is still a major challenge for me because there’s preterite and imperfect, so it took forever for me to relay this short funny story. I had to stop and translate everything before I could say it. What would have taken a minute to tell took five. We got through it though, and amazingly enough, my partner Angela understood most of the story despite my broken Spanish.

Bringing The Wedding Gown Home
Posted on October 10, 2012 by Ching under Life.
Mom had been asking me when I was taking my wedding gown home over the last few weeks. She figured that she no longer had to store it for me now that we had plenty of storage space. I picked it up and finally brought it home over the weekend.
I would take it out of the box for you guys, but it’s in a special wedding dress preservation box so I can’t take it out. Otherwise, the whole preservation magic spell will be broken. I actually wish I could take it out so I can try it on. I’m curious if I can fit in it again. Probably not but a girl can dream, can’t she?
Speaking of stuff stored at mom and dad’s, mom said we could take our old Christmas tree back also. I figured that I’d wait until Brian returned home to get it because the box might be too bulky. Mom said that the tree is pre-lit. I told her that I didn’t think our old tree is pre-lit. I hope she’s right, though. I wouldn’t mind getting a pre-lit tree because that means I won’t have to buy several strings of Christmas lights.
Brian doesn’t think that our old tree is pre-lit either, but we’ll take the pre-lit Christmas tree because it will make life easier for us. Anyway, we were trying to figure out what else we could have mom store so that we can get it back five times better. LOL.

Quiet Sunday at Flip and Ching’s
Posted on September 23, 2012 by Ching under Life.
It was a little chilly this morning so we decided to eat breakfast inside instead of eating breakfast out on the deck as we’d been doing the last couple of weekends. The iPad has actually come in quite handy because we can take our TV shows with us wherever we go. LOL.
I made the rice. Brian made sausage and eggs.
We spent the day doing chores and relaxing at home. In fact, I didn’t leave the house at all. Amie decided to take the day off and spend it with her boys so I took the day off as well. I didn’t work out at all today.
Not too much excitement happened, other than the frustration of setting up our wireless video surveillance system. We were super excited to get our FOSCAM working after a couple of hours of tinkering with it (okay so it was more like four hours) that we didn’t even bother to test its wireless capability. When we finally untethered it, we couldn’t get it to work. What good is a surveillance camera when it’s confined to the office because it’s wired? We need it to be wireless so we can put it in the middle of the house. Ugh. Maybe Brian can figure it out while I’m out of town tomorrow.

Saturday Morning Cartoons
Posted on September 23, 2012 by Ching under Life.
Brian looks like a kid in our big bed. LOL. You’ll really think of him as a kid after you hear what he was watching. Yep. Saturday morning cartoons.
I was like, “Really?” To which he responds, “What? I like Ben 10. It’s an ALL NEW one!” Yes. Really. That’s what I have to put up with. SMH.
BTW, if you don’t recognize the bedroom furniture, it’s because we upgraded to a king bed when we moved. Unfortunately, I tried to save a little money on the mattress (because bedroom furniture in general is so expensive). It’s a good mattress, but it’s not as good as the organic stuff we had before. Of course, nothing could compare to that mattress. Not even the so-called heavenly beds at Westin.
Brian actually sneaks in naps in the guest room because he misses the old mattress. LOL. Sorry, baby. On the plus side, now that we have a king sized bed, it’s harder for me to push him off in the middle of the night.

Unpacking
Posted on September 16, 2012 by Ching under Life.
Here are some gems we found while unpacking.
We found Brian’s footed pajamas!
Unpacking is so much fun. You never know what you’ll find. And yes, you are reading that correctly. Brian is an ordained minister. He wanted our house blessed so badly, I don’t know why he didn’t just do it himself. LOL.
