Holiday Galleria 2013

Posted on October 12, 2013 by under Shopping, Things to Do.

Untitled

I hadn’t been to Girls’ Night Out since my first Holiday Galleria experience in 2011. We weren’t volunteers this time so I actually got to experience it for real — complete with waiting in the long line to get in and being one of the first 250 people there so that we can get goodie bags.

Untitled

Brian went with me and was #13. I had to pay for an extra ticket so he could go, but that meant I got an extra goodie bag also. LOL.

Untitled

The firefighters are always one of the highlights of GNO. Carly’s friend Judd wasn’t there this year. There were lots of familiar faces though — Kim, Ariana, and Todd, just to name a few.

Untitled

Speaking of familiar faces, I also ran into some fellow Zumba instructors.

Untitled

Regina (left), who I met in person for the first time, and Gina (right). Gina is one of the instructors who pioneered Zumba in Wichita. She was teaching Zumba well before it became available in our local gyms.

Untitled

April and I had already had a few margaritas at this point.

Untitled

The food (except for chips and salsa) ran out pretty early in the evening but the margaritas continued to flow freely. I probably would have stayed with the other girls but Brian was getting antsy. I will definitely go again next year but I may leave Brian at home the next time around. LOL. Until next year!

P.S. If you are interested in shopping, Holiday Galleria is a four-day shopping event that will continue through Sunday. Go check it out!

Brian is getting his studying in whenever and wherever he can. Yup. That’s my studious hubby!

Oh Yeah!

Posted on October 12, 2013 by under Food and Drink.

Where do you take a vegetarian friend to dinner? Oh Yeah! of course. LOL.

Untitled

Here’s the appetizer sampler that I always get because it has a bunch of things I like.

Untitled

I think I got the Mongolian beef but honestly can’t can’t remember. Whatever it was that I had, it was good. LOL.

Untitled

Brian had something like sweet and sour chicken. No surprise there.

These are Christina’s soy patties.

Dinner was the hand off. After dinner, Christina and I went on to the Orpheum for MOMIX: Botanica 2013 while Brian went home to wait for his friends to come over.

MOMIX: Botanica was amazing, by the way. I was in awe of the performance the entire time. The best, most creative dancing I have ever seen. I’m so glad that Christina invited me to go with her. I couldn’t believe that there were empty seats in the auditorium. Wichitans have no idea what they missed. Seriously.

Same with Oh Yeah! I think this is one of the best kept secrets of Wichita. People who have never been don’t know what they’re missing. Seriously.

Nightcap with the Latin Americans and Christina

It was a good excuse to fire up the fireplace.

By the time Christina and I got home from MOMIX: Botanica Brian and the rest of our visitors were already three sheets to the wind, on account of Ron Zacapa (Brian’s new favorite rum).
