These were taken at the GC Services photo booth during the networking reception on Monday night. It was the opening reception of the conference.
It took us a while to get our group framed in the photo just right. We finally got it right on the last try. Here’s my favorite of this set.

The GC Services ladies, Kathy and Lori, were really cool. I found out later that they went to dinner with Don on one of the nights. Don had sent an email, but my Good app on my phone was acting up and the web version of my work email hates Macs. I didn’t see the email until it the next day. Oh, well.
Though I missed out on dinner, I had the pleasure of hanging out with these lovely ladies at Billy Bob’s Texas on Wednesday night. More on that later. For now, it’s time to hit the gym. Have a fantastic weekend and stay dry everyone!

Omni Fort Worth

I had to go to Texas for work this week, but I couldn’t leave town without stopping by Scooter’s for an ice twix latte. Damn you, Gina Ann, for getting me hooked on Scooter’s lattes!
It was my first time at Omni Fort Worth so, naturally, I had to take a bunch of pictures.
The bed was pretty comfy; though not quite as comfy as my own bed. The shower was quite spacious and I liked the rain head.
I loved the floor to ceiling windows, which offered some great views.
This is the chair in my room that I never used.

Brian and I Skyped each other every night of the trip.
He even read a chapter from The Hunger Games to me one night.
I loved looking at the city lights at night.
My favorite part of staying at the Omni is their awesome turn down service, which actually freaked me out at first. I came back to my room one night to find my curtains shut, the TV on and tuned to a channel showing calming images and relaxing ambient sounds, my robe on the bed that was turned down as shown in the photo.
I knew that I had left my curtains open and my TV off so I was thinking I was in the wrong room at first. However, as soon as I saw the bed, I realized it was the turn down service. I think this is by far the best turn down service I’d ever encountered. I’d had other turn down service before where they leave chocolate mints on your pillow but, since I wear braces, I wouldn’t eat them anyway. I’d have to take my braces off, eat the chocolates, brush my teeth, and put my braces back on. It wouldn’t be worth it. I did throughly enjoy the wonderful turn down service, though. I’d come to look forward to it each night upon returning to my room.
I told Brian that, as much as I was looking forward to coming home, I really didn’t want to leave because of how much they spoil you at the hotel. Brian was like, “I’m not turning down your bed at night!” LOL. =P

Date Night

Jenni gave me back one of my old dresses a few weeks ago. It’s been almost a decade since I last wore it. I couldn’t believe I could fit in it again. To celebrate, Brian and I decided to have date night.
We went to Luca for dinner. It was fabulous, as always. The food was delicious and our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The sax player made the cozy, romantic ambiance even more so.
Anyway, here are some obligatory food photos.
We started with the arancini balls at our friend Jeff’s recommendation. I’m so glad we took his advice because the balls were delicious.
I love how unenthused Brian always looks in photos.
And to think, he wasn’t even drinking. But I was.
Though, I have to say that the bellini martini at Luca is not half as good as the version served at YaYa’s.
Brian had the tomato basil soup (left); while I had the minestrone. Brian said his soup was good. Mine was just okay.
I ordered the special for dinner. I can’t remember what it’s called, but it was super delicious. It had scallops, shrimp, mussels, clams, rice and vegetables. I didn’t care so much for the clams because I’m not a fan of clams, but everything else in the dish was very good. I even ate most of my veggies.
Brian went the safe route and ordered a pizza. Boring! He said it was delicious, though. To each his own.
After dinner we went to Old Town Warren to watch Wrath of the Titans. We had just seen Immortals

Happy Easter

I don’t know what it is, but I like wearing white on Easter. The photo on the left was taken last year. The one on the right was taken this afternoon.
You know how some women have multiple black dresses? I have a few white dresses because I love, love, love wearing white. Specially on Easter Sunday. 🙂
